Fine Ill watch it because those designs look pretty nice.

But what is this pink dot in the hair of the second girl? An old version of hair colouring?

I hope the fanservice don't get out of hand, cause the book comes off as epic.
With these character designs, it seems like my earlier worries about fanservice seem quite dumb.

Can you even MAKE fanservice with these character designs??!?!

If you want fanservice, I suggest you watch Queens Blade.

I think that's how her hairs are supposed to be.

Spoiler for insert character art, but kinda big:

I much prefer the art in black and white form. Kinda brings out the true beauty of the designs.

Simplicity is always better, but really the problem is with the adaptations and application of color. You are never (ever!) going to get the color right since there isn't that much material to guess it. And really, its painfully obvious mangaka are fooling around when they go about describing their characters details you can't see in the work (age, eye color, skin color etc). Not to mention the characters on the covers were made for the covers (not animation).

I really really wish at least one company at one point would go "so what if the mangaka described the main lead as having redish pink skin, pink eyes and semi-transparent hair, magenta lips, purple pinkish eyebrows... [insert 30+ more colors for clothing]", but unfortunately no matter how rediculas the character bio is even creators of "original story" material will stick to the mangaka's wording like its glue from god.

  • Feedback from the screening is very mixed partly due to the fact they've altered the lines from original novel and weird pacing, although everyone agrees that the animation was nicely done and overall satisfying.

He hasn't done much but I really liked him as Ju Juzawa in Denpa teki na Kanojo, really looking forward to the second OVA for that... which just came out a few days ago I think. Yukari's generally always good at whatever role she does so I guess she'll be fine as the other lead.

I had no doubt the animation would be good, but changing lines from novel made me weary once again of the people behind this.

"Samurai Jack" poped up into my head when I was watching the trailer. The animation does kinda resemble that show I guess.

Oh nice I see that Taku Iwasaki (Rurouni Kenshin OVAs, Gurren Lagann) my favorite anime composer is doing the score for this. Looking forward to seeing what he comes up with, he hasn't done anything since Kuroshitsuji so I can't wait to hear this score. One thing's for sure the music will deliver during the action sequences.

I just hope he lays of the rap style that he's been so fond off. Thankfully it only appeared for two tracks in Kuroshitsuji, and i can't see it fitting at all for this score. I hope he also knows that, which i'm sure he does.

Still, i do think he is a good man for the job.

I would be very surprised to see him use any hiphop style tracks on this, it fitted Gurren Lagann and Soul Eater but I don't think so here lol.. I'm just hoping he goes back to his Rurouni Kenshin OVA style for this one if it fits... I'm just excited he's composing something new tbh.. I'll take whatever I can get! Btw do you know if he composed any new pieces for the Lagann movies?
