Interesting news regarding the next season. I'm curious to see how they're going to fix the hints for the second season they removed from this first season adaptation.

Manga looks pretty good... But every new announcement of a new sports adaptation that isn't Baby Steps is a little irksome.

Haikyuu!! is another one of those sports shounen with a big fujioshi fanbase, and the rampant success of KuroBas has everyone looking for the next cash cow in that market. Heck, they even got the same studio. Baby Steps doesn't have that going for it.

To be fair to HQ! it def outpaced what Kuroko did in the same timeframe in Jump, I cbf looking back @ old sales charts but it sold more in the earlier volumes. Of course Kuroko exploded after the anime though... Anyway HQ is part of the "New Power Generation" of jump after all so an anime was always on the way.

Kuroko - about to get a sequel
Nisekoi - about to get an anime next Winter
HQ! - about to get an anime next Spring
Assassination Classroom - the next big thing in Jump, bound to get an anime next year.
PSI Kusuo Saiki - Fairly popular gag manga, but doesn't set the charts on fire.

Anyway it's just JUMP pushing out another adaption of a successful manga, hoping to increase sales even more, would've been animated regardless with its level of sales, Kuroko's success has no bearing on that. Once a manga in JUMP sells at that level it gets an anime, see Medaka Box, Sket Dance, Beezlebub, Kuroko as recent examples. Other manga like PSYREN that had a near two year run in the mag couldn't get to that level and was left without an anime.

Sounds like it will have Matoba & Natori in it instead.

Anyways interested in the volley ball anime. Even though I have bad memories about volley ball because I really sucked at it.

A new Space Battleship Yamato 2199 movie was announced at the end of the anime today. Said to be a new story, so not a recap film. To be released in 2014. No more information at this time.
