Hideo Suzuki is a thirty-five year old mangaka assistant struggling to be the hero in his own life by breaking back into the lime light with a new serial all the while juggling his relationship with his girlfriend and his own delusions.

However, as hard as Hideo may try, the world seems to have a different set of plans for him; sinister and dark machinations that completely overturn his reality as he knows it.

Nominated for the 3rd and 4th Manga Taisho Award (2010 and 2011).

Just curious if anyone else is reading this series. It starts slow, although there are plenty on hints of what is coming, but the end of end of the first volume hits harder as a result of the build up.

Just read this, An excellent zombie apocalypse manga. Unlike a zombie apocalypse set in US, Lack of guns sets its apart from them. Even though main character is one of the few people with a gun. Looking forward to more chapters.

Caught up with the recent translated chapters and it's been quite a blast.

I have a weird feeling about Hiromi and Hideo's relationship at the moment. Something tells me that their "first time" or whatever won't go well. Considering that there's a monster right outside, things could get ugly.

Manga is finished his already with 22 volumes. Also Dark Horse is translating this to English.

Things are getting real interesting now, too: Spoiler for vol. 12: So apparently, the "Kurusus" are basically like super zombies that somehow retain their sanity (or what's left of it, anyway). So I guess that would explain how that Hiromi girl is semi-"harmless" towards Hideo. And speaking of Hideo, I wonder if he'll become a "Kurusu" himself, eventually? I mean, he kind of DID get bitten by his zombie girlfriend, even if most of her teeth were already broken when she did.....

So first off Spoiler for Chapter 183: Oda's dead. Welp. Gotten bitten by a zombie baby, had to be mercy-killed via trash compactor by Hiromi . Cue Important Haircut for Hiromi. Damnit. Spoiler for Chapter 186 and onward: Secondly a brief jaunt to Italy, where we're seeing the final stages of the zombie outbreak, where massive Eldritch Abominations made up of countless zombies now amble across the landscape. But wait, why is there a girl left uninfected? We get a bit of a discussion with what LOOKS like a group of survivors... only for them to turn out to be zombies to begin with, talking with each other via "hive mind", while the girl could see how they REALLY look like (as bleeding and animated corpses). And the discussion? That the outbreak might have been done by an outside, extraterrestrial agency. There's a bit of back-and-forth between the nature of the "creators", but the gist is that they need the girl to "start anew". So now they needed to bring her to the hive center. Of course that doesn't happen. Because they're interrupted by Kurusu... Or rather "a" Kurusu. Oddly enough, the implication by the following conversation between the zombies and Kurusu is that the "Kurusu" entity had the same source as the zombie hivemind... Except Kurusu begs to differ. A glitch perhaps? In any case, Kurusu takes the girl, and runs off, promising to find her mother for her... And then we're given ANOTHER shift of scenery to a group of survivors in Tokyo proper. Hmm. __________________

She was pouting because of that, became inactive and this ended the Alien invasion? Found no reason for the ending on the author's side.
