Oh great, the opener finally reached 2 minutes. I guess it helps remind me about what happened last week. Anime viewers have a very lacking memory, it seems. Really kind of the staff.

It feels like the last 3-4 EPs were build up for EP13. Well at least we can expect EP13 to be the climax of this arc, so I hope it won't disappoint next week, escpacially considering that EP14 will be a recap episode.

Anyone want to guess what Eren's illusion meant? I don't think it's entirely a flashback since it seemed to mirror what was going on in reality.

And if the titan smoke wasn't enough of a visual cue, we see fire being related to Eren's return to fighting condition. So we can infer there are at least two related conditions for his abilities: a motive and some vague/symbolic heat source.

Well, what should i say? Boring? Tedious? Incredibly slow? I don't know. In fact, these three episodes sucked really hard and i just . . . can't feel the same way as when this show started airing anymore. I was honestly struggling to even watched this eps. Fortunately we got some nice actions to blow the start-to-be-annoying, pretentious dialogues, which each characters spoke in rather slow pace just to buy more and more time for . . . dragging this arc even longer, i guess?

But man, Eren was sure taking his sweet time reminiscing unnecessary things for looooong time, while his fellow soldiers are struggling and dying horribly out there for his sake. Truly magnificent, indeed.

The overused stills actually started getting annoying from previous eps, but from now on, it has finally gotten to the point of unbearable to watch.

Well, cliffhanger sometimes can be good for great anticipation, but when it got dragged for this long, even a patient guy like me would get thinned in no time. But well, i've seen worse, so i'll call it off for now

Yeah, I thought it was good too, a bit slow in the first half, but not by much.

Jean look like he's in pretty periless situation at this point. A jammed gear and a Titan making beeline for you while none of you team know where you is the definition of SOL. Hiding isn't going to do him any good either since Titans can sense a human without seeing them too.

I'm glad that Ian didn't decide outright abandon Eren which looking like a very possible scenario going by the last few eps. I don't know how much his sympathy towards Mikasa and Eren might played a part, but his level headedness and reasoning thankfully kept everything under control. Pixis is clearly a good judge of character despite his eccentricities. I'm also quite liking the new Armin, he did something that I would have expected from Mikasa. As for Mikasa's reaction to Ian's teasing, I think it's still too hard to say at this point Mikasa may romantic feelings for Eren beyond family love. Blush might just been embarrassment at being called out on it.

Coming from a manga reader, I thought this was THE slowest arc so far. We'll finish it by next week in time for the recap episode (14) and then we'll get into the good stuff again.

Edit: and afaik, it's a very faithful adaptation of the manga (chapters 12-14, I think). With the manga, I could read this whole arc in 20 minutes, but with the anime... :X

My excitement for this arc has pretty much died at this point. I don't know if there has been padding in the recent episodes, but it sure feels like it.

It also looks like Eren can't get out of his REM state on his own, at least at this point. Even when Armin tried jolting him it had little effect. Definitely seems needs there to be a strong willpower to resists the Titan's primal nature.

This show started out strong, but now it's just meh at best.

As next episode will be the climax of this arc and episode 14 is recap, that means we only have 11 episodes for the second arc? Feels like there's a HUGE waste of time here. No wonder the number of visitors in this subforum has been declining recently
