Welp. I finished it.

Personally, I'm glad Mitty's transformation scene wasn't quite as horrific as it was depicted in the manga, but... Man, I still cried over her death. Mainly because every time Nanachi said that Mitty was her treasure, I lost it. (The voice acting just really helps pull everything together, and though she wasn't with us long, Nanachi's VA was perfect.)

And the message balloon as a representation of the main cast's hardships/adventure was a nice touch.

What a ride. Definitely needs another season.

Good lord, I liked it. It's got everything I want to be in the anime I watch : cute girls, good visuals, great music/atmosphere, a rather compelling story, Bondrewd, fresh onions, etc.

Will definitely jump on the manga too.

That was a powerful last episode. And overall they did a really nice job with this show.

But....I'll probably never look for the manga. Just seems like the tip of the iceberg for depression.

Anime was a 9/10 for me.

Also caught up to the manga...it's going to be holy hell waiting for these chapters, last update was like 3 months ago or something.

I definitely recommend it, it has its suffering and also uplifting things...curses and blessings as one might say.

Well... yes... But all I can say for the manga is that I despise depressing series that seem to delight in torturing their characters. It's one of my absolute turnoffs, and thus many things that are proclaimed as ground-breaking genre-setting masterpieces are nothing more than unwatchable/unreadable garbage in my eyes.

I still ended up being drawn in and engaged by this series. I happen to think that says something.

Watching the beginning of episode 13 made me sad... those bastards experiments on bunch of little kids...

BTW, did Nanachi just said the place (where she was experimented on) was where Riko an Reg was heading to? Meaning the "bottom of Abyss" where Riko's Mom assumably is?

I surely hope this doesn't mean Riko's Mom was also capture and being experimented on... GULP....

Nope. The Idofront is the gate from Layer 5 to Layer 6. They have to go there to go deeper, meaning they have to run into the guy.

Just finished watching this. One of the best animes this season. Think its 8/10 for me after this ep.

Nanachi and Mittys background story was sad, painful and bleak and it was good to see they finally got some closure after their horrendous ordeal. I like the way how Rem and Riko also ended up playing a huge role. . Everything tied up quite nicely while also pushing the story further. I cant wait fof that White whistle to get his well deserved just desserts.

Rem, Riko and Nanachi have a good chemistry and it will be interesting to see them work together to tackle the Abyss. Im stoked for a new season.
