LAWLZ, even without airwalk stuff, if they have connected design with proper actuator/ hydraulic system instead of detached legs, they can jump around fast enough.

And while their feet movement is just faster than normal human, with combination of anti-gravity and inherently long leg, each step can be long enough that they MAY outrun cheetah (~120 kph or ~70 mph).

Great burden for the human's joints though....and still much slower than what can be achieved with skating/ wheel/ hover mechanism

is it possible to put these leg actuator modifications in an uchigane? and if so how long do you think it'd take? weeks? months? years?

I would guess that the actuators are already in place

But then IS operators are lazy, most of them are, relying on just floating around.

Charlotte is actually the first person in canon that i see using her legs in an actual capacity, asides from the "running punishment".

this works then if the pilot is more used to the feeling of earth beneath their feet than just flying around? As much as not being as fast as flying and skidding around that shouldn't be much of a problem unless you're being the aggressor?

Hmm, then it means I was wrong about I.S. unable to run, sorry. Still, I stand corrected that running would be still slower than skating or hover.

Unless that unit has tons of missiles and rapid fire cannon then I'd say it's a "Target Practice"

the probability of an IS running on foot being faster than a flying machine is too low to be even considered possible. If it was... the pilot probably isn't human... or it's Chifuyu.

@zero: well, it's not like she's too slow to jump away from flying missiles and bullets

When I said target practice, I meant it.

1. It has no long range attack (using a lot of sword, understandable)
2. It ditched armor (to prevent obstruction, understandable)
3. Prefer to run than using more efficient propulsion...(Wait what?!)

Seriously... that's like pitting unarmed armored vehicle against attack helicopter. As far as quirk concerned, she's disqualified from being an instructor

What do you think about I.S. that is solely armed with sword, lack most of it's armor and DITCHED flying capabilities or other propulsion, preferring to run using it's legs?

Well the instructor CAN use the propulsion, it just irks her to be forced to do so...

I was planning for her to have some way of keeping track of her battle record. Only instead of wins, all she marks are her losses(which are actually very many like over 50+ @_@???.). Anyone have any suggestions as to how?

Inertia cancelled means the moment you turn off thrust, you stop instantly. Because your momentum = zero. Having no inertia also means you can't get knocked around by explosions because again momentum = zero.

Took a while to wrap my head around it, but the physics says this is the case.

I too think that a flightless IS is a dead IS.

Unless its like the Leopard Gundam. Which means very high ground speed and a wtf-ton of firepower. Throw all that away, and lacking even ARMOR, I'd say that's not an IS for combat, but a personal IS for leisure, like a really cool sports car.

So the next Top Model in a flightless IS with a sword? At least I have leeeeeegs to look at.

Then it's makes sense that she can use it, my argument is revoked.

And as Meister said, flightless I.S. is dead I.S., unless they can move as fast as if they can fly (Laura spend most of the time on the surface and by no means a target practice because she's fast enough).
