Sparrow's Hotel
The comedy revolves around Sayuri Satō, the new front desk worker at the Sparrow's Hotel — "the closest hotel to Heaven." Her special features are her large breasts and her skills of assassination. She takes down people who cause trouble in the business hotel with those skills, but she is in fact very unskilled when talking to the male hotel manager, and often bites her tongue.
The show stars Haruka Nagashima (Shiki's Kaori Tanaka) as Tamaki Shiokawa, Daisuke Kishio (D.C. ~Da Capo~'s Suginami, Vampire Knight's Kaname) as Misono-kun, and Minori Chihara (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya's Yuki Nagato, Saki's Tōka Ryūmonbuchi) as Sayuri Satō. Tetsuji Nakamura (Zatch Bell, Digimon Tamers Movie 6: The Runaway Digimon Express) is directing the series at Dream Creation and Hotline, and Daisuke Kusakari (key animator for Death Note, Penguindrum, Guin Saga) is adapting Satoh's characters to animation. Masakatsu Oomuro (Kamisama Kiss, Yuruyuri) is the sound director at Dax Production. Premieres April 9th on AT-X Offical Site: http://www.takeshobo.co.jp/sp/tv_sparrows/ |

Takeshobo's series on TV began with the relatively normal Morita and have been getting progressively weirder as time goes on. Also, all of them have been on CR.
Even this one. I've braved Ai Mai Mii, this'll be nothin'. |

I am only asking because I want to know in advance how important is the main male protagonist's role going to be. :D |

So a studio executive lost some money down the back of the office sofa, and while rummaging around to get his money back he found the master tape for something called "Sparrow Hotel".
Just then Bob from Accounts came in and said "Oh, is that where that was? We should have released that over ten years ago but we lost the master tape." "Ha ha ha", said the exec. "Remind me to fire the cleaner!" Then they edited it into small chunks and stuck it out there. Because the first thing that struck me about this show was that maybe I should have been watching it off VHS. Very retro style! |

Sayuri's combination of spacey and skilled makes for some good comedy. Also, it was confirmed that the DVD director's version of this show will have all new art and character designs. I don't think that's happened before for any show, at least, not to this extent.

For a show this short, I don't know why they would bother. I don't think it's going to sell like crazy after it gets the 'upgrade', and if the style resembles the manga (which I don't know about, as I haven't read it), wouldn't it encourage more people to buy the manga? Either way, I think this is a very strange move to make, potentially one that could cost them dearly.

I've been seeing this around places and was a little curious about it. It seems I wasn't exactly that motivated to watch the first episode. Yet still gave it a shot, and it was a good run when you're not expecting anything. Although I probably won't be going any further then that.
