Ah, then it was just my paranoia..

I thought, well.. I'm still thinking that Nagi somehow felt, or knew that Hayate might leave her, and was afraid to wait for his decision, thus she acted on her own by cornering him to a wall.

It can be viewed from many different perspectives. Though, I mainly see two..

First, she knowingly threw away her inheritance (act of sacrifice?) to liberate Hayate from a heavy burden. Also, by doing so, she consequentially and unintentionally at that, freed Athena from Midas, thus Hayate would feel really grateful to her for such an act, even though she was in the dark about it (if Athena is really free - could be Hata trolling...).

And from my second perspective.. she simply was afraid to lose Hayate. She has already stated many times that she doesn't need the inheritance as long as he stays by her side along with Maria, and possibly a handful of other people, although perhaps irrelevant and incomparable to Hayate & Maria. Thus she assumed the role of the defenseless kitten on the street. Hayate would be forced to care for her, even if he still cared for someone else.

Uhmm.. perhaps Hayate's view of her has also changed? She threw away such a gargantuan amount of money, she also saved Athena (still unconfirmed if Midas left), or if she didn't, well.. her act could be viewed as trying, even though she didn't know of that.

Uhm... I don't think I phrased that correctly. My posts are really confusing, are they not? Hahaha.. damn..

... I'm still in doubt. *sigh*

How does Hayate feel about this? Hmm... dammit, this is a good chapter. Hata, I love you more and more! Hahaha!

There were some jokes about breaking the stone with a nutcracker in 2ch forums before... and look what happened here. I wonder what will happen to Maria as well... Will she stay with Nagi or will she be forced to work in Sanzenin mansion, or will she be 'fired'? Her position in the Sanzenin house is pretty ambiguous...

I believe that Maria's position by Nagi's side is quite firm. It's true that she's... well... how to put it..?

She doesn't have a goal in life. She was presumably saved by the Sanzen'in's, and cared for, thus she's grateful to them (maybe she's really grateful to Mikado?). I don't know how she feels about Nagi. She knows that Nagi is really fond of her, and she likes her as well, but.... maybe she feels suffocated? Not having a clear goal in life.. well, many people don't, but still..

I guess it depends on Mikado. Maria said that she saved up a hefty amount of money. Her pay is probably ten, or twenty times higher than Hayate's. But.. her maid duty..

Hmm.. well, now she's basically "free" from her responsibilities. She doesn't need to care for Nagi anymore, no matter how grateful she is to her. Nagi even said that one day Maria will leave, and that if it's her wish, she'll let her. Maria needs to try things out.. to explore the world a bit, to find a goal in life perhaps..

But it doesn't have to be now. I think she'll stay by Nagi's side unless Mikado somehow takes her away. He could also do that with Hayate.. hmm..


Well, in short.. I think that Nagi will tell her something like that. That she doesn't need to care for her anymore, that she has Hayate, and that she should live her own life without wasting it on her anymore, or something like that...

Just then it would be really appropriate if she got angry and slapped her for even considering something like that, followed by a hug and Nagi crying as she hugs her back.. happy that she won't leave... haha.. that's overused, but I'd dawwwwwwwwww!! ;_; ^__^

Nagi just gave him the gift from heaven. He was praying for a solution which would enable him to save both Athena and Nagi, and this was the resolution. How he has a shot at rescuing Athena, and who says that there's no way for Nagi to find happiness anyway? Or maybe even still attain the inheritance?

The canonic ending (Nagi) has just doubled its points and retaken the lead.

Well yeah, but what are Hayate's feelings? If he still loves Athena more than he's grateful / likes Nagi, then... it's gonna be a pain for her.

By "devil" I only meant that she chose for him. Perhaps he'd done it differently. True that he was tormented and couldn't pick, but in the end he'd have to. It would be quite possibly Athena... Nagi thus stripped him from such a possibility. Now he has no choice but to take her side. Not that it's a bad thing, because she did a great deed..

Also, yay for more Nagi points! lol :]

Is a romantic ending really that necesary? Hayate ending up alone or end has quite a high chance of happening too.

Umm.. obviously?

Ayumu, Hina, Nagi, Athena, Izumi, possibly Isumi all love Hayate. Their love varies obviously, and then there are other girls that have a sorts of affection towards him like Sakuya, if it isn't love, then Isumi fits here as well.

The latest chapters all revolved around Hayate's decision. He was unable to decide precisely because of his feelings towards the two.

Dead Hayate = Sacrifice to save a loved one? Abandoned perhaps, or assassinated? Naw...
Alone Hayate = Screwed something up BIG TIME to be left alone by all of the above mentioned girls.

I wonder what he'll do now. We don't know if Athena is free from Midas yet, and if that was the real King's Jewel, like I hypothesized that it wasn't, since Mikado didn't seem the least concerned about it, while he desires entry to the RG. Remember how he said that even if he was Santa he wouldn't give him anything... Did he imply that he WAS Santa 10 years ago? Maybe he hid the gem in him somewhere? MAGICAL GIRL MIKADO!! Lol....

Okay, but anyway, Hayate needs closure with Athena, else all other relationships will stay on hold indefinitely.

Perhaps she can tell him that he can do what he wants? That way she'd still stay in the game, since he could also choose her...

I think we've been discussing the happenings of the current spoilers for the past 3 hours. You'll need to read everything that we've discussed if you want the answer to your question.

If it's too confusing for you, I'll shorten it down.

Basically Nagi resolved Hayate's dilemma by breaking the gem, and stating her belief that he'll protect her now that her money can't anymore by putting all her trust in him.

I questioned that before I was given the above explanation, and I'm still questioning it. Perhaps she had a different motive. Well, I said all of this already.

All that remain are more questions.

How does Hayate feel about this?
How will everyone react - especially Maria?
Mikado didn't seem to be bothered if Hayate chose to destroy the gem. Was it the real King's Jewel, or does Hayate have one inside him, since Mikado is somehow connected to his past? Perhaps it's something else entirely...
If it wasn't the real King's Jewel, is Athena still possessed by Midas? Was Nagi's sacrifice useless (although she did it for Hayate, and not for Athena - she doesn't know about his circumstances, just that he was suffering because of it)?

What else? Hmm...
