my bass when i try to play utauyo miracle bass into i cant catch up also i have a habit of rolling my hand around the neck. the bass i can find is a Fender mustang

When you say "rolling your hand around the neck", do you think you can explain a little bit more about what you're doing? Generally, having your hand rolled around is good form, as opposed to new players who habitually slump their entire hands atop the fretboard and tuck their thumbs too far back.

oh.songs that i can play like fuwa fuwa time cause they have less multiple notes but with cagayake girls or any of the fast songs are hard to play with many finger movement i use to tuck my thumb far back too

Ah, well it seems like your problem is just a lack in skill level, that's all. Once again with advise from Azusa, slow the tempos down and learn the songs slowly. Your brain stores the movements as muscle memory, so once you are better, slowly raise the speed. It's painful, but that's how everyone gets good.

It's a general rule to follow when learning music.

Slap bass is pretty difficult to get used to as well. I would focus on just slap bass first if that is what you want to learn. It'll be good to have that skill under your belt when you start playing advanced songs as well.

With all this bass talk I really want a bass now! Well I've always wanted one.., but now I want one more then ever!

Personally I want the Hofner 500/1 Vintage '62 Electric Bass

Its small, and I gotta admit it has a pretty cute shape , but most importantly it has an awesome sound!

it will go into black screen around 4:50, but it plays back @ 7:15 and he does a really cool bassline

Paul McCartney first saw the German-made Hofner 500/1 (1961 version) nicknamed the "violin bass" for its body shape, in the Steinway shop in Hamburg during the Beatles' pre-fame days in 1961. They Believe he asked the shop to order a left-handed version from Hofner.

"I couldn't afford a Fender," McCartney recalled later.

"Fenders even then seemed to be around £100 ($163.22 USD, which at the time was expensive). All I could afford really was about £30($48.97 USD). Always teetering on the edge of not having much - so I didn't really want to spend that much. So… I found this Hofner violin bass. And to me it seemed like, because I was left-handed, it looked less daft because it was symmetrical. So I got into that. That became my main bass."

In 1963, Paul got a second Hofner 500/1 bass given too him as a gift from Hofner. Even though he got it in 1963 it was a 1962 version, difference being the placements of the the pickups and the style of the Hofner logo. He kept the 1961 version for practice, but mainly used the 1962 one for performing live or studio use. Eventually he customized the 1961 one by redoing the finish of his bass, and removing the old pickup for a upgraded custom pickup. It then got stolen during the production of the 'Let it be' movie, and was never fond again .

(i think i see a ukelele there, or was that just a small guitar). love your gear dude. (i am gonna complete my dream gear when i have a job i guess, as for now, i'm stuck with my lame one. it's not good, but i can bear with it).

I figured it'd a good enough place to ask:

-Any specific things to look for when buying a guitar?
-Any difference between a guitar with a Rosewood fingerboard and one with a Maple fingerboard?

...and any specific recommendations for someone thats starting out? I've browsed around a bit, asked around, and also adding my personal preferences I've got a couple of guitars I'm looking to choose from, would any of you recommend them for a beginner?

-Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar
-Yamaha PAC212V Quilted Maple Top Electric Guitar
-Epiphone Goth Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar

There's not really any difference between maple and rosewood fretboards besides aesthetics.

Regarding the guitars, what kind of music do you generally play? Do you plan on making use of a whammy bar? All the guitars you listed are generally pretty good; I don't see any real problems with any of them. I'd add to that list of recommendations the Fender Blacktop Stratocaster (I recently purchased one), and the Agile AL-2000 or -3000, which are comparable to a mid-/high-end Epiphone guitar for somewhat less price.

the only main difference with guitars is the scale length. Gibsons are 24.75" and Fenders are 25.5". Most other guitar makers use those scale lengths. Every thing else is personal preference.

Pickups are really quite important to the guitar's sound, though.
