on the serious side, I think only Nobunaga would match Basara Date/Yukimura. which kinda confuses me why they don't have a female yukimura ._.

Sengoku Koihime Girls 13 - The Dog That Actually Was Shiro

Hideyoshi didn't say her bird line, and we didn't really figure out who Shiro was (though given his hat and the blue circle surrounding him, I think some heavy hints were given - perhaps he's a Date himself, transfigured into the form of a dog for....some reason). As far as Returning Home From a Fantasy World is concerned, this show was by far the easiest in getting back. The Date family has some amazing technology, if a bit power hungry. But Date-sensei should've known better than to try and take over when, as brought up, nobody knows who she is. On the other hand, she is apparently skilled in the art of sapphic seduction. Who knew?

For a series based on a pachinko game, it was pretty good. The characters were nicely engaging, the action wasn't bad, and it was historical enough while being unhistorical enough to be entertaining. Plus, lots of yuri subtext/text/way-more-than-subtext. Who am I to argue with that?

A good finish to the anime.
Though the last part was so mean of the staff! Just what will happen?!
But at least they didn't pull a deux ex machina and just conveniently bring Hideyoshi back to the other world, like certain anime already did. That, I give points to.

I wish the present day Tokunya and Akerin actually got dialogue.
And was that... perhaps... present-day Oyataka?!

Wow, wow, wow, wow...
Who would have thought this would become such a great anime. At first, everyone, even I, were like "Ugh, just a whole bunch of girls. Not only that, but Rio's successor. Must be crap."
The first episode wasn't that good either.
But... But... BUT! It got better. Lots better. Just kept getting better from episode 1.
It actually turned into my most anticipated anime this season. Always making me wonder what would happen next, what would happen next, hurry up and show me the next episode, time to watch this episode for the nth time!

It wasn't exactly unique, content-wise. But it was well-done. Lighthearted, yet serious, something fun to watch, but it knows when to take itself seriously and when to make viewers laugh.
A mysterious balance... But an addictive balance. Pachinko, how fearsome!
Also entertaining that it actually kind of stayed to history, with important events or lines.
On top of that, I like how the anime just laughed off the SF explanation stuff. Okarin must be shocked though.

Especially great were the characters. Kenshin and Shingen were rather air and Motonari and Motochika were also fairly so though, though Sourin was just adorable and their three idiots position gave them some fair spotlight.
Yoshimoto didn't get much time either, but her character was strong enough to win 3rd in the popularity vote.

Nobunaga was just... amazing. Probably manlier than any man this season. Harem anime often have protagonists that aren't actually worthy of a harem, but there surely aren't many people that can complain if Nobunaga gets a harem (which she kind of was building up). And on top of that, actually pretty too.

Hideyoshi was the protagonist, but her position was more of a mascot heroine or something of that sort. Just being there is enough. Cute. Good.
I guess it would have been nice to see her actually do something, but I think it is actually more fitting if she didn't. She is, after all, just a normal student. Therefore, she shouldn't awaken to some amazing hidden powers and be able to solve major problems or give people annoyingly long and preachy speeches or act like some super acrobat.
Also, her butt.

Akerin was a good yandere. THIS, THIS is how a yandere should be. Not those cheap ones out there like that girl from BakaTest or Hiden no Aria.
Her emotions were drawn out very well, leading up to her arson. You can't really say she is right, but that is what a yandere is and her emotions were displayed well enough that the viewers actually felt sorry for her.
She's an idiot in general though. That's what's good though.

Tokunyan was... pure win. Just win. Awesome awesome awesome.
Cute, Saten-san "Erosu!", Cool, S(ado). What else could you want?
So awesome, I don't even need to explain. Just go watch the anime again.

The Date family... was... a big laugh. So obsessed with trying to "tenka-tori", they haven't given up in the far future. On top of that, they suck at time traveling.
One of them is a perverted dog.
The other is a rather crazy teacher talking about crazy ideals. Now this is what you call a "denpa".



Anyways, in general, 12/10. Just too awesome.
If the DVDs come to America, I'll buy them all.

Didn't it happen because they couldn't control it? The teacher can, thanks to her cellphone.

Even if Date did gain control of it, the emotional factor still comes into play. Her motivations for wanting to use it weren't all that different from Ieyasu's, as demonstrated in the finale. The crystal's control may have been overridden, given that they don't seem all that reliable either.

Overall a very fun series, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Most shows that venture into this territory end up taking themselves way too seriously and obviously that wasn't a problem here. I like how they left the door wide open for more episodes.
