^ You can't really call that death... I mean, what's the point of calling it 'death' when you could always revive? It's more like knocked out, only that it is knocked out of the body. Anyway, from how it was presented, it doesn't really feel like a permanent one at all. He might lose, he might go into hiding for a while, but he won't be killed. At least not permanently.

Or they can relate to High School DxD where the main hero is considered to be dead and his allies grieve of losing their comrade and after several days past the main hero returns in an insane way and beat the enemy.

Although I am actually happy to see him losing. That's because that lowers the chance of him counting as a Stu and could be used as a fuel for more character developments. See, the hero won't change unless they failed a bunch or got really pressured until they have no choice but to change. It's nothing important, just my inner writer soul responding to it...
