An attention seeker dressed in as a peacock won't mean much to him. He can rationale the person as an idiot and belittle him . seeing a riajuu couple probably triggered the "リア充爆発しろ!" flag in the literal sense where he kills them seriously. in certain games, there are people who pk the weak and teabagging corpses so this maou play isn't even that surprising.

I know. I just meant that it takes away from the scene. The impact and implication is much bigger for a guy who checks and identifies a minor indication of romance and immediately goes ballistic than for a guy who goes mad for a pair who actually named themselves "X's lover". It's like the difference in impact between a guy who robs a man who's lived a frugal life and gave almost no indication of his wealth and a guy who robs a man who wears a $50,000 suit and literally slaps people in the face with hundred-dollar bills like in cartoons. Doesn't matter if both are filthy rich, mugging the first guy makes you look a little different than mugging the second.

I usually check out these fantasy isekai anime because of two reasons:
1 - Because it's probably the only fantasy themed show available and i'm a big fantasy fan starving for this genre. 2 - Sometimes i get a big surprise when a show actually explores the isekai theme a little bit closer to it's true potential instead of just an excuse for cheap overused harem shipping fanservice and otaku bs. From the trailers i had no hope for this one to suit my "demands" however, after watching the first episode, i ended up with a heavy focused comedy with a funny MC that reminds me of some sort of Overlord parody, so it made me smile. Even the action scene with the salamander (cool design btw) showed a bit of effort so there's hope for this one to entertain me even tho it's kinda cheese sometimes xD The fanservice is bad tho. It's only redeemable quality is when used for gag reasons, otherwise it's just a bunch of disgusting giant boobs being flashed for no reason everytime the elf is on screen. It's even worse when said elf has a kid looking face just like the other cat girl. Doesnt resemble a woman at all and the general female art style so far is definitelly not for my taste. But yeah, it was fun to watch. Way better than what i was expecting. If they maintain the focus on the comedy while exploring the world with some cool explosions in the mix, it might be pretty enjoyable despite the circumstances. |

I had a bad feeling for this anime.
Novel version is good but not great. Anime adaption overall is fine, its kinda fun to watch this kind of MC than dull MC of Smartphone and Death march. But first episode already show me where is this show would go. Is this series ecchi? while answer is yes, but anime too focus into unnecessary fan-service. Animation is good for first one, but I'm sure quality will drop like hell for next episodes. I don't know why, but adaption of light novel always fail what make those series famous. Except Smartphone since I feel it bad since novel version, it only interest in plot and nothing after. Death march is slice of life, they could done better if they use different story telling. After I saw watch they could done to comedy series like Hinamatsuri. I'm sure they can do in other series too. High school DxD is extremely example of this It can be the both the best (first season) or the worst (Last season, before current hero arc)

Watched first ep... well, not bad.
But among the isekai I've watched this y ear and last year. Isekai Maou surpass them all in the category of having the most number of scantily clad women in both the op and ed song.

I know i should not laugh at this, but i laughed so hard at the moment of this Demon King's thoughts while blowing those couples up into pieces.
Even in the gaming world, he may feels he does not have any places to be, and these couples from the real world haunts him? But to me are they really couples? As if, because i dont really see any point in them going through all the trouble with dressing up like a real couple as in they are already couples the real world especially the main character giving them a lesson of do not play games for fun. Who knows because how those two being rather dramatic call each other names while being blown up in a game is just the players's show even they play for fun? Then in here, he is in the world of completely couple-free, but for some reasons he just cannot show off his joy. As if something such as couples exists in the world of er something, then will he actually going to kill them? And let's see how long he can maintain that tough image of his until he let his guard down and expose of his true personality. I bet Kazuma will beg him to switch places with him and having no problems of revealing his honest feelings without any care while being a High Level Demon King. I guess I enjoy the 1st ep. cos I never had much expectations of it in the 1st place. But one thing I like is the MC actually having a facial expression to tell his inner thoughts instead of overlord's skeleton face.
See, that's why some LN adaptation don't work so well animated, but some improve after being animated. |

Right, an another sad thing is that now he became something way more far from "Reajuu".
He actually became "Kaijuu" with magical powers if that is something to brag about. So yes, all couples should get out of there its going to blow or rather you'll be all blown up. And to think of all beings, the Demon King must curse people who are blessed. |

No hint of originality here. This is clearly written to be a commodity.
But even such a story, when executed with style and when the tropes are taken advantage of unapologetically, can be surprisingly good. This author is clearly owning up to the fact that his work is third-rate. It's hard to explain, but there's something wholesome about that. And the anime is easy on the eyes too, so I don't hate it. I had similar feelings about Isekai Smartphone, but it peaked around episode 3 and turned to shit. Hopefully there's a little more to this one.
