And the 2 female characters, I'm pretty sure one of them (or both of them) will be Setsuna's love interest in the show. It's a tradition
Beyond all else, assuming the Gundams in 00 have a mothership, there needs to be a female character to send off the pilots into battle. So one of the female should be an operator on the bridge of the mothership.

The gundams look good, they look like improved verde buster, astray, strike and blue duel. The last gundam i thought was an improved Talgeese 1. Though i didint like the last one, but the 3rd gundam looks new to me. Still must see everything in the anime in motion. Still not something i expect to be more, im still preferring Gundams from GSD. Only the first gundam looks really well designed, the others look like they were designed in a short time.

The Shin look alike, gets the hero gundam where its at the center of all the action, where as the others look like just support gundams. GSD gundams were more multi-roled but atleast this anime have more older men who play important roles.

Taku Iwasaki should (hopefully) do the soundtrack for this gundam, he's more than capable as shown by the Rurouni Kenshin OVAs, Witch Hunter Robin, Now Here & There and currently Gurren Lagann.

Kannos already done a gundam, time for some new blood!

Of course they're different. That's probably why they have metallic weaponry, just like in Wing which also had no PS armor and thus no need for pure beam weaponry (when fighting Gundams, anyway).

I just pointed out (in a not really all that serious manner) that the CE Gundams, unless we're shown something that tips it in the 00 Gundams' favor, would stomp them, same as Sandrock and Heavyarms would get wrecked.

LightningZERO: Like I said, since I don't think this world's got PS, it's not necessary for the Gundams to use only beam-based weapons. Doesn't mean that they're "better" or "worse" than beam weapons, just means they have a choice.

For all interested, I actually think it's better that there's no PS, makes fights more interesting when you can use standard ammo or steel weapons. in addition to "wtfpwn Yamato Beams O' Doom".

And I just pointed out why steel weapons could still make shish kebab out of ordinary MS and the 1st generation CE Gundams. I also stated that it wouldn't probably do anything against Freedom and all its brothers in arms (that which includes Justice, Providence, Strike Freedom, Infinite Justice, Legend, and Destiny) using the same steel weapons (because of their infinite Phase Shift). I didn't mean anything by them.

As for the AC Gundams, they also have some sort of hax armor, so I really can't see how the CE would also pwn them. It would become a battle of the haxes, that's for sure.

my only qualm about Excia having melee only weapons is the possibility of it going "shunpo" on the opponent.

actually I can see the legs moving, maybe not as fast as the other Gundams but I bet the leg joints can move. If we had an image of the back of it that would solve the mystery. For all we know the back of that Gundams legs are open.

Think of it as one of the pads a goale uses in hockey, the front is huge but the back is emoty.

yep, it is just like a Hockey player pad is, the front is really big and the back is not there.

I knew the legs would have to bend becasue if they couldn't the only thing that Gundam could do to move was use it's thrusters. It would look really funy actually seeing a Gundam move using only thrusters becasue it couldn;t use it's legs.

I keep looking at Gundam virtue and it looks ok but man, the back view just makes Gundam Virtue look really fat . . . .

Where are the cockpits in these gundams? I'm guessing it is in that circle orb in the chest. If thats the case, I think Virtues huge armor is pretty much useless. it has excessive armor in all parts expet the cockpit. Unless the width of everythign is to balance out all the weapons and pods....

oh well, I strill think its cool. Its different at least.... And either way, if those werre real, i would probably feel more safe being in that gundam, regardless of where the huge armor is.
