It's an endless cycle, short as it may be.

About two months ago, several OC stories popping out, nobody is complaining.

Fast forward, more gary stu OC popping out, like what happened when this very thread created....

Which remind me, he is basically a walking karma due to a single, if grave mistake about converting the I.S. into a war machine ala Project TD so they could get a sponsor... talk about gone horribly right

Because no one's complaining anymore. As bad as Aliases and Jasper were, at least they stopped Gary Stu's for a while.

Which is good for me, as I still have my grim dark touches to add. > : )

@Both: To me, the rise of Gary Stu fics usually mean one thing, LACK of canon research, the authors don't seem to evaluate the canon characters and how they can hold key parts to the plot, thereby when they make their ocs, they usually have the mindset, "well they are side characters in MY story, and thus, since it's a fanfic, they have to be completely molded into MY image of them (even if it's completely OOC"

However, for let's say my Red Rain story, OC work ALL OVER, canon research is adequate, and still incorporating possible parts of the plot into my fic (the birth of the Blue Tears technology, the rise of Feminism feminazis.

However, not that I am saying that OC authors are completely at fault, but rather part of the blame lies on the poor plot development by the IS author (which I can keep going for a long time). He could have multiple subplots but abandoned them to the favour of the harem loving antics, and even that backfired on him.

Which mean we're still waiting for them to return, or at least their equivalent (the one that is more objective) :3

As long as we make him sympathetic and redeemable I will not complain (what with losing parents THREE TIMES and get an amnesia, entering Deus angst Machina there).

I still find it odd no one comments on the blatanant amount of OC's in FI. Relation to canon characters immediately invalidates most complaint, apparently

2. awesome
3. funny
4. a combination of above

As we discussed yesterday, many OC seems to be related to Tabane in a form of another, most of them are very implausible (mine included), not even when it was convenient to explain nifty toys using to defeat/fight along with I.S.

The potential.

The author thrown a lot of ideas and inspiration, which result in varied kinds of fic out there. Warfic being especially common mostly due to potential and rule of cool.

Maybe we could call this a small cult?

I meant something like this, not some huge forum. Anyway, I need to ask a question:

How long does it take to dye your hair, and how long does it usually last.

15-30 minutes.

As for how long it last, it can be months or years depending on the hair length when dyed (because you have to cut the dyed hair, letting the fresh one grew).
