When does this anime start? There seems to be some confusion when it starts to air.

Fansub Wiki lists the first ep to be aired on the 10th July while ANN and AniDB list the air date being 3rd July (Note: it airs past midnight so the actual date would be either the 11th or 4th).

It seems some kind of special will air on the 3rd, titled "The secret of 「Nogizaka Haruka's secret」". - I'm not sure what it'll be about, but most likely the usual presentation with the main characters' seiyuu giving their impressions of the characters and the series in general, as it was the case for Sekirei.

Fansub Wiki has the correct information, the first episode will actually air on the 10th.

The preview show has shown up on bt as episode00. It's a pretty good example of its type, hosted by Ueda Kana and Gotou Mai, with appearances by Nabatame Hitomi, Shimizu Kaori, Satou Rina, Matsuki Miyu, et al. There's a good clip of Noto Mamiko during recording. And some live singing and dancing by the cast.

I think having Mamiko Noto as Haruka's VA fits pretty well.

Of course this might just be since I really adore Mamiko Noto's voice.

Well I think it fits really well aswell. But yeah. I also adore her voice.

Lot of shows this summer have good seiyu ensemble (thinking of Sekirei and World Destruction along with this). I had overlooked that Kana Ueda was playing a character here (that made my day ).

Oh it fits... But watching that trailer, that particular voice she used is slightly different than what I had expected...

To preface: I like Mamiko Noto's voice as much as the next guy, but watching the first episode...she still sounds like Kouta. Or rather, my mind is still hearing her as Kouta. That's slightly distracting, but I'll give it a few weeks.

In the first episode:
-Drunken Hitomi Nabatame character (just the way I like 'em)
-Show within a show (Dojikko Aki-chan). The OP gives me Precure vibes.
-Those Three Guys
-Misplaced cell phones

Most of the focus was on Yuuto and Haruka to set things up, and not a bad start. I like the OP; the computer graphics idea is pulled off well. Not to mention the fanservice. The ED is a dancing theme. I'm sure that fills some sort of quota for the year. Heard the OP and ED on the radio show a week or two ago, and like both of them.

From the way the show goes,feel like need to spend another few weeks to see whether this show is worth watching or not.It doesn't seems to have any difference with other harem,romance,school life shows,although Mamiko Noto's voice completely turn off my fault detecting radar and make me focused on the show from the start till the end.The anime style pretty much like Nanoha,and the OP part seems good,although the ED part seems not okay to me.

Anyway as for today's episode
- Dojikko Aki chan...its funny that i thought i got a wrong show when Aki-chan face first appeared when the anime started.Never thought it was a part of the show itself...and plays an important role in episode 1.
- So what's exactly Nogizaki Haruka's secret anyway.From the way Yuuto friends described her,she seems to be a perfect girl in whatever aspects.However she do have one secret that she really don't want anyone to know about it - she is an extreme fan of Dojikko Aki-chan (from the way she react ).Yuuto accidentally saw that "secret" when he returned the magazine "Innocent Smile" with Aki-chan on the cover page to the library,and saw Haruka (with her face covered by her school bag) borrowing that same magazine that he just returned.
- And Yuuto hit her secret right on the spot,although Yuuto is not a fan of that magical girl,but he accidentally found out that even Haruka herself also is a fan of that show.Not really Yuuto cares about it,but Haruka's exaggerated acts whenever she sees Yuuto after that incident bothers him alot.Yuuto that doesn't feel comfortable with that tried to ask Haruka about it,although its not that easy becoz of Haruka keep running away from him and Haruka's fans blocking his way Well in the end he manage to solve the misunderstanding,and becomes a friend of Haruka.
- It was on that day where Haruka was supposed to return the magazine to the library back,but because she forgot to do so,she had to ask for Yuuto's help to accompany her to the library to return the book.And the way Haruka clinging closely to Yuuto really makes me feel sooo jealous And after all that,Haruka allowed Yuuto to call her by her first name,and Yuuto to ask her to call him by his first name,which also means that their friendship has jumped to another level.Good for you Yuuto.

Mamiko Noto's voice as Nogizaki Haruka certainly amaze me as usual.Her voice certainly fit Nogizaki Haruka's characteristics well.Hope there will be more romance in the next episode..and more secrets from Haruka to be revealed

Wow, that OP just shot down my expectations for this show. Fanservice in an OP w/o any comedic factor is usually a red flag for me. The ED seems to be making a play at creating their own Hare Hare Yukai phenomenon, but maybe that's just me -_- .

Well, hopefully I'll watch this soon.

Actually, the dance in the ED is the Otagei or whatever it was called. I read about it on a blog but I can't find it anymore. It's a famous dance that's kind of become THE dance for otakus in Japan. They're not trying to create a new Motteke Sailor Fuku or Hare Hare Yukai. And yea.. the first ep didn't have an ounce of comedy in it.

The Japanese in this show is surprisingly simple, enough that even me with my rudementary Japanese skills could understand .

Great show, lots of cliche's, no fanservice during the show as far as Nogizaka herself is concerned (and she's the only one that matters :P). This will be on my watch list for sure .
