downloading torrents

my computer keeps trying to download them with a program thats not meant for torrents is there a way to make it then when i click to download a torrent that it automatically uses the program i want it to i use bitlord but it keeps trying to send them to windows media center.

If you're using Windows, open the folder where you're saving your torrents.

Right Click -> Open With -> Choose Program -> Choose whatever program you want to open it with, and check the box that says "Always use this program to open this kind of file". Click OK and it should do it for you.

Also, on some torrent clients, there's an option in the preferences that is something like "always use this client when opening torrents"

never mind i figured it out stupid me only had this computer for a few months still trying to figure out how everything works and where everything is.

not matter what i try to do it still keeps trying to use windows media center to download the files when i click on stuff it just say open or save but doesnt let me choose what program to open or save it with im starting to get pissed.

nope i figured it out but a new problem has arrose being that i have no programs that want to play the files not even media player classic

Right click on torrent->Properties->Opens with->chose the torrent client
This way all the torrents will be opened with that program you choose. Anyway is pretty strange because the bittorrent client automaticaly recognize and convert the torrent files so at double-click it should be opened with it.
