The pacing of the latest episode was atrocious. They pretty skipped the whole investigation. The upside is that at least we didn't get to see Oldbag that much.

As anime-only viewer I actually think this episode is the best so far. Animation is better (no CGI audience, yay!), and the transition between comedy and seriousness is much less awkward. If compared to the game they skipped anything important to the case in the investigation phase then I'll definitely make a fit too, but so far this episode is fine on its own.

Huh, they reanimated and fixed some of the jankiness in the OP. Always weird to see that happen to a show that's currently airing.
They did, but for some reason the hero character is called Steel Samurai in both sub tracks on CR even though his JP name is actually Tonosama. |

So, ep 4...just have to say that as soon as the villain admitted lying under oath about the phonetap his testimony against Phoenix Wright was completely discredited. He had already used the same logic to dismiss his secretary's testimony, as she had lied about the phonetap. No need for any ghosts to be called up; it's unsettling to see something so strictly forbidden in the Bible accepted in Japanese culture.
And the judge just seems to be there to perv over female witnesses; "Though homewards as you trudge, You may declare my law is fudge, Yet of beauty I'm a Judge, And a good judge TOO!" |

Oh I think the case is close to being solved after this week's episode. As usual, Mayoi freaking out is priceless. For some reason, I kinda liked the way they are building up the suspense for the Samurai case, more entertaining than the previous one so far.

However, I felt that there are some parts where Yuuki Aoi over(re)acted, as usual. |

I've been critical of the show so far and most of the criticism I maintain but one thing i have to give them kudos for in this latest episode is the attention to some minor details. This show is still severely lacking in means but they are making the best with what they have and for that they deserve respect. :-)

If the next episode is the last of the Tonosama case then I guess that means the rest of summer will be devoted to the last case. And it sounds like Akio Ohtsuka will be involved, so this could be pretty good. |

I kinda lost interest when Phoenix Wright was framed for murdering her senpai.
it felt so easy to exploit someone who is even in judicial staff. I did not see last two episodes. Is it still hit up, guys??

Animation is however consistently subpar.

At least the storytelling for both of the last two episodes was pretty good. They took some liberties. Making the second trial day take place mostly outside of the courtroom, but I'm not really a purist anyway.

Episode 7:
Well that was a better than I had expected especially the latter half of the court case. I was also somewhat surprised that Mitsurugi colluded with the defense after realizing who the real culprit is. Didn't find the case itself that complex though as everything still tied back to Himegami. Glad to see justice delivered in the end! Spoiler:
