KOF players who tried the game back at PSX said the gameplay is reminiscent of old school games. The ground game is as solid as KOF98's and players won't be jumping and hopping like they used to back in XI and XIII.

In United States, Street Fighter was the only franchise that had the opportunity to establish itself early on. Everyone knows about Street Fighter 2, even to the point where many people played it in arcades before the vast majority of arcades died out in the West. It has been the one constant franchise that has always been there.
It's not like Japan, where arcades are still thriving and people can try out any fighter for some 100 yen coins as long as the cabinets are there. In the States, the only real way to get your hands on a fighting game is to buy the console/PC version. And unlike arcades, a full-priced console game is a bigger investment. Most people aren't going to spend over $50 on a game they're not sure they will even like, leaving mostly only fans of the franchise to make that purchase. And out of all the fighting game franchises out there, Street Fighter is the most well-known in the West (aside from maybe Smash Bros, which is slightly different). |

I have never, not once came across a street fighter arcade, however there's tons of KOF arcades, specially 2002 ones.
That's just in México though, I've never been out of the country to compare

Terry bringing back the original jacket, nice. The rest of the cast is also shaping up visually.
Tizoc is now 'The King of Dinosaurs'...really guys? You couldn't just call him Tirex? Quote:
Maybe he should become 'The King of Bulls'
