HDMI audio extractor recommendations
Hi. Just curious; anyone use an HDMI audio extractor, and like it? I need to find one. My media room uses an HTPC for the content provider and it feeds an Epson projector to a 142" screen. Works great, but I ran into a snag. I wanted to get a streaming service but they serve their content via a FireStick app. So I picked one up, but it's an HDMI "dongle". You stick it into your TV HDMI port and it feeds A/V that way.
Problem is I stick it in my projector's second HDMI port, but it's a projector so there is no audio. The best solution would be to buy a modern receiver with HDMI switching, but I'm poor lol. I'm using an older Onkyo 7 channel receiver and it doesn't switch HDMI. So I figured if I could get one of those boxes where it has two HDMI and an SPDIF. It takes HDMI to the input and outputs A/V on the HDMI out plus the audio on the SPDIF which would fix my problem. Issue is, most I see say they are five channel tops. Haven't found a seven channel one. Any suggestions? |
