With ship-to-ship combat, I envision ships that actually see each other, launching what-have-you at each other.

Anything over the horizon (with maybe a few technical exceptions) is something other than ship-to-ship.

The General Questions thread, formerly the Silly Questions thread, has always been around and it's still active...

Golden Age of Sail, mid to late 18th century. Frigates preferred over ships-of-the-line, which rarely saw actual combat in any case.

The key to good turkey is in the cooking. If you do it wrong you get something bland and tasteless. But if you do it right... juicy and delicious!

That said, I think it would be easy to get bored of Turkey if you had it as frequently as, say, Chicken. That's why I'd advocate only having Turkey on Christmas/Thanksgiving. I get my fill of Christmas during that period, and by the end of the season I'm quite sick of it. I'm beginning to look forward to it now though...

Duck isn't western food? What kind of blasphemy is this?

Gunnery duels between WWII-era warships. Battleships, Heavy Cruisers, Light Cruisers and the like.

Would've preferred combat between WWII-era Aircraft Carriers with old school propeller-driven, monoplane carrier air groups, but as Endless Soul mentioned, that's no longer ship-to-ship combat.

All manned by legions of fanatical character pairing supporters, of course.

Australia doesn't exist. It's imaginary. Like Narnia.

I thought you meant Peking.

And yes, Korean duck dishes are the best around.

The best Peking Duck I've ever had was at this restaurant in Beijing, I think it might have been Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant (I remember that is was founded in the 1800s). It was exquisite! To this day I still remember the divine taste.

To be fair, I don't think I've ever had Korean duck.

hmm...sailing ships. I'm not head over heels for modern warfare - world war one is the last war that I "like"
