Funny you should mention that - I just came across this announcement on Moon Phase announcing a TV special for Ah! My Goddess, called Tatakau Tsubasa (Fighting Wings; incidentally, the same name as a 1998 AMG quiz game for Dreamcast).

The special is being made to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series, whose manga started in August 1988, and it sounds like they're trying to get Hiroaki Gouda (who directed the original OVA) to direct this special.

No word yet on when it'll air though

At the TBS Anime Festa 2007 production on xxxHolic season 2 was announced ^_^

The staff and cast will remain the same as of the 1st Season. Beginning of broadcast still undecided.

No, not a second season, that is still unconfirmed. What was confirmed was a "new series" and that could mean either a whole new production of the existing story (a remake, so to speak) or the implied second season.

Yes, but... *sigh* a "second season" is pure speculation, even if it's highly likely. At this point only a "new series" was confirmed.

Confirming this earlier report- Moon Phase reports that a new XXXHOLiC television series has been cleared for production in Japan, and that the staff and the cast would not change. http://d.hatena.ne.jp/moonphase/20070811

It also reports that an Aa— Megamisama— Tatakau Tsubasa (Ah! My Goddess: Fighting Wings) special will air this winter on the TBS network in Japan to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Kousuke Fujishima's original romantic comedy manga. TV Tokyo has announced that it will start broadcasting an animated series based on MapleStory, the Korean fantasy massively multi-player online role-playing game (MMORPG), on Sunday, October 7 at 8:30 a.m in Japan. The series will take over the timeslot that currently runs Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann. TV Tokyo posted the news on Anime X, its anime-centered website for mobile devices. The Japanese game version's maintainer Nexon had previously announced that Madhouse Studios (Last Order: Final Fantasy VII, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust) was to animate.
