Episode 10
This show. Too good. I love these characters and their interactions. Pretty emotionally charged episode. Rinko is gonna be a mommy and is worried if she's good enough. She tries cooking for this reason but fails big time. Souta says some mean things but then apologizes. And Poco really is that tanuki god or whatever with how he gave the two siblings that flashback. And Souta also saw that he had said that he wants to make udon like papa so maybe he'll pick up the restaurant after all, even though he took that job at Shodoshima. Episode 11
I feel like Poco is behaving even more like a kid than usual this episode. Sota feels a bit of nostalgia after seeing that photo album. No surprise there as those photos are filled with family memories. This episode also gave me a similar feeling to one of the other episodes especially with all the fun that Poco had with Sota at the festival and fireworks. Also thought the kids looked cute in their yutaka The cliffhanger worries me though. The secret will be spilled??

Episode 11
Souta has decided to raise Poco and has told Rin at least this much that Poco isn't a friend's kid. He didn't continue though, but now he has no other choice. Poco's tail came out and everyone around has seen it. What's more, Hiroshi probably took a picture of it and it has been caught on camera and streamed online. Souta will have a lot of explaining to do. But it is possible that that priest man will help Souta out in some way. |

Ep 11
And up next week, that moment I have been wondering about for much of the series. What happens what Poco accidentally shows himself to others as a tanuki? That being said, a good episode yet again - I really liked how it showed Souta genuinely happy that things were working in a good direction somehow, but it seems that perhaps, just perhaps there were just some aspects to the "whole picture" of his plan that were not ... eek ... "right" somehow, or even a bit naive or unrealistic/untruthful in a more serrious sense. This showed up the most often on the faces of Rin and Nakajima. I think the "big reveal" will catalyst Souta having the opportunity other to be making a fully wholesome and truthful first step in the right direction ... it is possible that he went "off" at some point, and my guess is that the catalyst was the leg injury, so evening we have not seen appear in the narrative for a while now.

Ep 12 (Finale)
What a perfect and beautiful ending to the series, especially one who's source material is still ongoing. (I wish other adaptations would be able to execute an end in a similarly manner!) Sure enough, they did bring back the element of the leg injury, which puts several things into the why and reason why Poco chose to enter into Souta's life to begin with. The narrative was neatly and nicely tied up all in one there. In so many ways this has been my favorite series of the season - it has been continually and consistently excellent for me every step of the way with no mishaps or missteps. And in a season with series as strong as Natsume Go and Fune wo Amu that is saying something. Whereas in some ways I think Fune wo Amu to be the more "important" series, I enjoyed this series the most. 9.5/10 from me. And my AOTS. Thanks so much to the staff for such a heartfelt and lovely work!

That...was just heartwarming. Everything about this show makes me smile including the finale and it's interesting that the series went back again that showed how Souta and Poco's encounter wasn't some coincidence.
I'm surprised at how much fun I've enjoyed watching this show. Also, one of the catchiest OP songs of the season!

Episode 12
That was too good. Poco was here to tell Souta the importance of family and that they're always close together even if they're physically far away. Nice stuff. I expected the parting to be more sad, but I'm not that disappointed though. Thanks to Poco, Souta got his leg injured. Good going, tanuki lol. Really liked the characters here. Poco only played the role of making Souta remember all those stuff. He helped Souta get closer to his dead father (maybe that sounded a bit wrong lol). The character interactions were fun and so lively. They were such a good family. The OP was the best this season. Really like how it starts off. Some heartwarming stuff here. It was similar t. Amaama to Inazuma, as in it emphasized on family and stuff, but I think these guys did it better here. |
