One Piece - Chapter 920 [manga]
Welcome to the weekly manga discussion thread for One Piece.
Thread GuidelineBriefs
Alright, credit goes to AP's Redon for the info: -Title is "I love Oden". Splash page features Zoro and Sanji. -The actual name of Oden Castle is "Castle of Kuri." The reason it became known as Oden Castle was due to the popularity of the daimyo in question. We then learn a bit of Oden's background: He was the son of the former shogun, Kouzuki Sukiyaki. It turns out that Oden was exiled from the Flower Capital due to causing several violent incidents. He went to the Kuri province, which back then was known as the most violent and lawless place in all of Wano.... so much so, that even the shogunate was helpless to do anything about it. However, Oden managed to rise to prominence upon defeating the most dangerous individual in Kuri, a man known as Ashura Douji. After taking him down, Oden changed Kuri, building towns and giving the people employment in the once-lawless land. To reward his son for his services, shogun Sukiyaki appointed Oden as the daimyo of the Kuri province.... -Back in the present, a lost Zoro is wandering around somewhere. Meanwhile, we shift focus to duke Inuarashi of the mink tribe, who's at a beach in Kuri, reminiscing about his first meeting with Oden. Back then, Inu was a wanderer who many people considered creepy. However, Oden didn't discriminate against him, and in fact treated him as a friend. -Back to Luffy's group, Kinemon continues his story, telling them about a certain samurai who Roger and Whitebeard admired (most likely referring to Oden). He then goes on to say that Oden died an honorable death, and that when Kinemon's group of samurai reached Oden Castle on that fateful night, it was already burnt down by Kaidou. There were only three survivors in the castle: Momonosuke, his sister Hiyori, and their mother, Kouzuki Toki. It's been rumored that Toki is a woman who came from the distant past, and she reveals that she came to the future using an ability known as Toki Toki (time). She then uses her ability to send Kinemon's group to the future..... -When they arrive, they discover that Wano has become a wasteland. Thus, they decide to gather the forces needed to take down the current shogun, Orochi. They encounter a group of allies led by a man named Jibuemon, who says he's awaited them for 20 years, all of whom have a moon mark on their ankle. Kinemon concludes his story by summarizing the events leading up to his fateful encounter with the Straw-Hats at Punk Hazard. As for Kaidou, his current base of operations is at Onigashima Island. The samurai plan to invade the island in two weeks' time, on the night of the fire festival....!!!! Last edited by marvelB; 2018-10-04 at 13:31. |

I wonder which era Toki came from. Before the Void Century, I'm guessing. She might have even used her ability to escape whatever happened back then. What happened to Momonosuke's sister? Seems weird that her mother wouldn't send her to the future alongside the others.

Perhaps Toki's power wasn't enough for that many people at once and the sister didn't travel that far into the future. |

Every DF users has their own stamina to use and how proficient the user is. Robin using Cien Fleur Wings also got exhausted and lasted only for a few seconds for the first time. Luffy's gear four also consumes lots of stamina after using it.
Still, it also shows that the current highest stamina DF user was held by Sakazuki and Kuzan as both can last ten days fighting with no rest. |

Updated with a few pics and a previously missing (but vital) piece of info.... Kinemon plans to invade Kaidou's island in two weeks' time....!!!!
As for the pics, I like that pic of younger Inu and Neko, heh. Also, it looks like most of the Kouzuki family are shadowed for the moment (though looking at her pic, Toki seems to be another Robin clone..... eh). Still, interestingly, it seems that one pic of Kaidou gives us a glimpse of the other two Disasters.... Oh, and I think Ramero is gonna love the splash page when the full chapter comes out, heh. |

Two weeks? That means a week after Reverie ends right? Hopefully we can get more news at Holy Land. |

Momo's sister might have 2 fates.. she is the leader of the rebellion group or she joined Kaidou's forces
anyway, looks like Luffy is going to take a yonkou down this time.. this is unlike against Big Mom.. they are in the mood of all out war |

i'm confused... why do they think they can stop orochi and kaido by traveling to the future?
their lord's castle just got destroyed so they need to travel to the future to avenge him? what will that do? why didn't they try to find allies in their own time?

That was already explained.... in their own time, those sympathetic to the Kouzuki clan are considered criminals. While that's also true in the present time as well, Kinemon's group has the advantage of being believed to be dead, so they have something of an element of surprise on their side. If they tried to rebel in their own time, they'd most likely be instantly crushed by Kaidou/Orochi's forces..... |

Interessting that the story first described Oden as a very powerful person, who even brought peace to the most dangerous province of the country, just to hear, that he was simply defeated afterwards.
Doesn't really make the people from Wano look impressive at all. |

The castle is burned is practically tell us how well their army fare against Kaido; so their best shot is run away to plan for future return but consider Kaido army and that he will definitely launch a full scale search for survivor of the family; there is practically no better hiding place than the future |
