Yeah, I'm not exactly sure what was the plan there.

It really was a space colony. The mysteries surrounding Anthem and Kirill have been lifted. Travis is mysteriously missing and we know he was in charge of Yuri's maintenance, so maybe he gave a fake core to Apple and is working to revive her currently. Or maybe they're working on an even bigger twist with him.

Pretty sure the cliffhanger won't fool anybody.

So the Earth of Double Decker has been used as a testing ground for an colony of humans from another world to breed and cure a drug to stabilize their human enhancement experiments. Didn't see that coming .

If Seven-O got disbanded wouldn't they all just get re-integrated back into the police force? Aren't they all technically detectives as far as official ranks go? Or does the military connection and Seven-O's "unofficial" police standing make that more murky ?

I guess Zabel (now looking like Hush from Batman) is going to be left unaddressed as a "the story continues" thing .

It's nice to see that, beneath her crassness and aggressive personality, Deana really does care about her friends and her job .

I still don't buy Yuri staying dead, but I guess they wanted to make it sound more unlikely so it's a bigger surprise when she does come back...

Kirill's landlady packing heat. I can't say I saw that coming either .

That is the first time Doug called Kirill by his first name, right? I was wondering when we'd see that .

They did the same thing with Tiger and Bunny .

(Now that I think about it, Doug and Kirill are almost an age-reversed Barnaby and Kotetsu).

Yes, this is the first time Doug has called Kirill by his first name. A death flag, but yeah, not buying it

How the heck does that work? How long have they been running this experiment?

considering this is Sunrise, not sure the GMS is comparable to the Coordinators from Gundam SEED.

Finished it today.

Man, Kirill evolved so much in this show. Compared to the goofball he was during his debut, he's able to take big risks and deal with a dangerous criminal in the finale. And his enemy is no joke...with that boosted power.

We also got the other SEVEN-O members joining in the fun so it was more of a united attack. I love how Doug came back and revealed the trap they've set. Clever. Cooper is probably the most despicable antagonist I've seen in this show. Looks like the story in general continues with SEVEN-O afterwards so it kinda leaves more of an open end. "This is Seven-O"!

Oh well, I thought it was still quite a ride. This series' finale lived up to my expectations for sure. Maybe we can get some continuation? I mean, it does hint at a continuation in the end after the credits.

This show trolled us until the very end. The plan Doug had told Kirill was fake, and he told him the real plan off-screen (which was really good, expect I'm not sure what he would've done if Cooper had shot him in the head). I liked how he lied about Deana playing the hostage and was trying to contain his laughter when Kirill realized it was Milla/Valery. He really is an asshole

Travis really was working on bringing Yuri back, but that wasn't the explanation I had in mind

The after credit scene totally suited this series. I hope the to be continued isn't a joke as well, though.

We never found out the connection to Tiger and Bunny, maybe announcing it was a spin-off was a troll in itself? It made the audience keep looking for clues every week, all for nothing.

Anyway, really enjoyed this show. The humor was completely up my alley, the characters were great, and the action was nice.

"That's too many soldiers!". Yeah, it was a nice story, but I don't think it can last for 144 seasons.

Damn. I really hoped that in the end they'll show that it is just a series that airs on TV in the "Tiger and Bunny" world.

It would have been an ideal conclusion.

But nevermind. THis show still was true to itself till the very end.

that plot twist that Cooper is actually the weakest among the 144 super soldiers,
and Doug trying to die in a heroic death but the explosion conveniently toss him to safety,

also is Derrick still not aware of Kirill's 'sister' is actually his brother?

Three extra episodes coming. One in February, one in March, and one in April.

I’ve been kinda surprised to see a lot of marketing around this show in Akiba, given how tepid disc sales seem to be projecting.

Wow, this show really went in a weird direction with the whole "space colony" thing. The problem is we'll probably never see any of that potential get utilised in a satisfactory manner (unless these three extra episodes end up being the dog's bollocks) so it all kinda feels like it was all for nothing. Still not as bad Kuromukuro or Gangsta.

All in all it pretty much feels like a repeat of Active Raid. A semi-decent buddy cop story that's good but not great.

I was really disappointed when I saw the numbers. This show deserved better.

Count on Doug to come up with a clever and analytical plan to bring down the bad guy .

The show made it a point to have Doug troll Kirill one last time, but they also made it apparent the positive effect Kirill has had on them in through their developing relationship to where Doug would feel loyal to Kirill and even willing to be a hero in his own way .

I love how practically every character in this finale was aware of all the tropes and cliche's associated with this kind of story. You have Kirill bringing up the theme song and even Zabel getting in on it .

Although speaking of the theme song, I feel like it would have worked better playing during the climactic moment with Doug and Kirill had they not still had the Opening at the beginning of the episode like normal .

Yuri indeed returns, thanks to Travis trying to cover up his buffoonery. But I guess we should still mourn the death of copy Yuri, who was pretty much the real thing, which it seems like Yuri is doing by wearing her core .

It was nice to see Elle and even Hannah visiting Camilla in prison. Granted, I'm not sure how I feel about a teenager apparently serving hard time at a maximum security prison. Like, I get she used Anthem, but shouldn't she be in juvie? Although she did violently assault a couple of people .

I love the turnaround to where Kirill talks about this really being a detective show but then the narrator turns it on it's head by saying it really was a Hero show in the end .

I still don't get where the Tiger and Bunny association came from. Was that just for marketing to get people interested? Was it because it had a similar style to Tiger and Bunny? Will we realize the connection when they release more of the future Tiger and Bunny project ?

Disappointed, but not surprised. This was a very Western-styled show with moderate production values, so I'm not surprised it didn't really click with Japanese audiences.

At least we have the Extra episodes to look forward too...

I'm not sure it was ever really given a coherent marketing campaign. Was it a sequel to T & B, or just a Sunrise show with some staff crossover and a similar vibe? If it was the former, why did it take so long in the first place?

Of course one could reasonably ask the question - if Tiger & Bunny itself premiered today, would it be as successful as it was? That may be part of the issue too.

Anyone seen the Extra episodes that have been added on Crunchyroll recently? They're a lot of fun, and help make up for the series' not having the greatest ending.
