RWBY Volume 2: Chapter 1 - Best Day Ever
Here we go again, with "chapter 1" clocking in at over 14 minutes.
If nothing else, the fight scene, which lasted about three and a half minutes, was spectacular! And what an ending to a glorious fight. I think we might also be able to put to rest that old debate about who is faster: Ruby or Weiss. |

So, the first episode off season 2..........I'm not too sure what everyone else thinks about it but I have to say the overall quality has gone up considerably. The way the characters move look so much more fluid and that food fight reminded me more of the trailers than anything we ever saw in the first season
Also, does anyone else think the voice acting has also improved a lot? Furthermore, Ozpin for best school headmaster: *sees results of literal food fight* "Let it go." It makes me wonder how much Glynda has had to look over ever since Ozpin became headmaster at Beacon. P.S. Whatever the food in that fight was made of, I want them, especially those incredibly tough baguettes and leeks. P.P.S. I was not expecting those kinds of personalities from Emerald and Mercury. |

On another note, Ruby's trick with her coat reminds me of Vincent Valentine. |

Back into it!
A good start to the season. Some good jokes and dialogue. Sun is starting to grow on me, and so far, even though he was only screen for a short while, I like Neptune and his look. Emerald and Mercury seem like they're going to be entertaining enemies. Quality of the voice acting has improved. We got an awesome food fight. Although it was unfortunate to see the guys look like lightweights compared to Pyrrha and Nora. Especially Nora. (Good effort from Ren though.) Hopefully they'll take Barbara's suggestion and add a sound effect every time Yang glomps on someone and they get a face-full of bosom.

What a first episode!
I honestly think that was the best example of a foodfight it's ever been my pleasure to see animated. Amazing stuff, the difference in animation level compared to last season is pretty clear. Emerald lives up to her name, she's definitely a darker Ruby. I'm getting even more pumped for the rest of the season.

That whole first episode was just a giant rule of cool spectacle to show off their improved animation. Not that I'm complaining; it was pretty awesome and looked gorgeous. Love how they syched us out when we though Ruby crying while holding Weiss's still form was something dramatic in the trailer when it was actually just shenanigans.
Also Nora: I love you. You can be the queen of my castle anyday |

s2 off to a funny start (^,^ )!
"I'm king of the cas~tle, I'm king of the cas~tle!" Gotta love Nora's laugh and voice =03. Ruby coming in using the Phoenix Wright gesture(lol, justice), and the name on the milk carton is rofl. Weiss falling unconscious, yet still holding on to the swordfish ? They made the guys a bit on the weak side though(Nora + Pyrrha seemed to be doing most of the work), but at least Ren got a quick peek at Yang's panties before he got beat(I'm gonna pretend the pause was because Yang feinted a punch into a kick and Ren still blocked it, and not them both realizing that one is getting a clear shot of the other's underwear). Minor note; I liked the way both Yang and Ren built up momentum to their run right after picking up their weapons instead of being a consistent run. I appreciate the small details =03. Guy with the blue hair, the very MOMENT he smiled, he reminded me of Falco(intentional?) Torchwick is awesome as always. Whoever is voicing him is doing a darn good job conveying his slick/sly personality. I also appreciate the way lines are delivered without any particular tone instead of filling it with emotion like some anime show. Gives it an impression of how people talk in real life as opposed to a tv show.

I remember in Halo 3 there was a scene when you grab a Scorpion (tank) and go around bullying minor covenant vehicles at first, then medium and finally an enemy phantom (dropship)
The AI went something like this at that moment: "Tank beats Ghost. Tank beats Hunter. Tank beats Wraith! TANK BEATS EVERYTHING!!! Oh man, I could do this all day" I got a similar vibe off Nora's makeshift hammer. Hammer > Ruby. Hammer > Swordfish. Hammer > Double Turkey. Hammer > Everything. Cheers.

That must have been the best food fight in the history of food fights. It was an amazing way to show how much the animation has increased from last season. The two new antagonists Mercury and Emerald seem like they will be pretty entertaining enemies.
Can't wait for more.
