I'm hyped that we've at least got a window of time to expect this thing. Probably will end up releasing closer to the end of their fiscal year in March. But still means we're getting closer to actually seeing this project happen!

No idea what they'll do with the story, whether they'll just start with new Gundams to save time and not require a mid-movie upgrade, but we'll see.

Obviously with it being an anime movie...it could be late 2024 before we even get a look at this thing. But at least it's happening

There have been times that I completely forgot about it. And then I rewatched the show earlier this year and found myself wondering if it would happen. And a couple months later we get this update about when it'll be coming out .

I am glad it is going to be a thing. It'll be fun to have Kira and company back for one last adventure.

I will believe it when I see the trailer XD

I heard it's going to be Shinn's redemption arc (imo, he has nothing to redeem himself as he is the only noticeable character who doesn't switch sides every two seconds XD)? knowing how destiny went, this is far from being a guarantee as Jesus Yamato is always lurking to steal the spotlight

I just hope they will use this chance to revive some hg duel, buster, aegis, etc, model kits XD

The other characters usually swapped sides when their faction did something they morally couldn't tolerate. The fact that Shinn didn't ditch Durandal when he started espousing that everyone had a preset destiny from birth via genetic tampering was a sign he was too far gone.

You kidding me? Shinn's world view was mostly dumb from the beginning to end of Destiny. Heck, he was only seen being okay around Athrun (again) & Kira in the Final Plus.

Twi had an interesting point tho. If my memory is correct, Yzak didn't rebel immediately upon hearing the destiny plan. In fact, I don't recall anyone did. Yzak only switched side (again) when Lacus got attacked.

Well, yeah. He wasn't aiming the giant laser at ZAFT this time since he was basically in charge, so he and Derek only defended Lacus' ship when she opposed him openly, with him stating it was because it was a ZAFT ship.

Knowing the marketing, they might want to get new mobile suits to sell, but the Freedom and Justice were ridiculously powerful in Destiny's climax. Also, I wonder if Rey's mobile suit will be taken by somebody.

From what I could read from the site, the story takes place in the year CE 75, 2 years after Destiny's story. So Kira would be around 20 years in the movie.

Who would want to watch a film about Shinn?

He's probably the worst Gundam MC ever, he sucked so much his show got hijacked by Kira. Not to mention that Kira himself is the most popular Gundam MC, the movie was always going to be about him.

I hope Athrun will also have screentime and patch things up with Cagalli because almost 20 years later and I'm still mad at what Destiny did to them.
