I thought the same thing. It looked on the more censored version like they weren't going to do stupid stuff like that, but they still went and moved her hair around to hide the only location(s) that they feel they can't show. On top of how dumb it is to show everything except for that, it's also somewhat teasing, so that rather than making her depiction less provocative, it makes it more so. If you're going to include a girl in the fanservice, then deliberately adjusting things to avoid showing one thing that all the other characters are always showing frankly draws more attention to her. Not to mention that regardless of her age she's developmentally a good distance past another girl who's quite frequently on display.

well that was a great episode very in depth and of course throwing in the ecchiness but the next episode is definitly an original anime ending although it looks as if theyre throwing 2 manga chapters together to get one and finishing in a cliffhanger....i smell a S2 XD

Yea. Quite impossible to leave this series alone without animating the rest of the material.
And now, I just watched the 2nd OVA -- and I'm in tears. === Lol commentary on the OVAs: Spoiler:

^I have it but I can't read the runes. He said he became friends with Ishikei in the latest issue of SQ.19, but I didn't know he was actually thinking of collaborating with him.
And yes, you should buy it. It's a beautiful artbook.

To Love Ru Pinkness 12 - The Absence of Presence
There were a few things I was curious about going into Darkness. Even if its new protagonists are fan favorite characters, that's not always a recipe for success. Shifting once-dominant characters like Lala and Haruna into supporting roles was also something that I thought a little odd. But once the series got past the setup phase (something like the zombies never returned), it became pretty nice. It expanded on the roles and relationships of TLR TOS in a way that shows this story can still continue - it was always kind of episodic as it was. And some of the new developments, such as splitting Run/Ren into two distinct people, do make some things easier down the road. The whole thing with Mea and her master was never fully explained, but they were adapting as much as they could in a way that made sense for a TV series, I'm okay with that. By separating Momo from Rito, it shows just how much of an impact she's had. Rito's life goes back to resembling TOS a little more, plus the presence of Tearju. Who I look forward to seeing more of, even if her role was small here. Rito's got quite a reputation around the school, to the point where even super-pervert Momo (not that they know that) was forbidden from seeing him. I am a little surprised they got away with Momo masturbating at the start of the episode - Devilukean onanism in any form resembles Earthing male masturbation, but because the organ used for it is coming out of the back rather than the front, it can be shown on TV with no problem. Good work! (<- Meant sincerely.) I enjoyed this. The lights didn't bother me that much, because the characters and relationships were intriguing enough on their own. The parallelism between Yami and Momo was a great focal point for the series, and everyone had a part to play, even bit players like Rin. I look forward to a theoretical To Love Ru Darkness 2, or whatever they'll call it. |
