It's the same for every character really. Take out their advantages, and they all become easier targets. But that's not how battles are waged, aren't they?

But the amazing thing about Snake, is that unlike other characters who have been enhanced by technological or supernatural means, he's merely one hardcore soldier. Old-school, a purist, in other words. Just like the Boss herself, and the great Big Boss—two legendary figures who led their own respective teams of specially enhanced butt-kicking misfits.

In battles where other soldiers gain such significant enhancements, it's nice to know that the "normal" (or rather, the pure) soldiers turn out to be the legendary ones after facing such dire odds. Perhaps one can also say that this fits in with the setting and overall themes of MGS4.

Snake VS Liquid young

Actually, the first one was a lot more cheesy.

You're really supposed to see more similarities between the new battle and Big Boss's and Ocelot's battle in MGS3. Most prominently, Snake's stance.

100% sure because of that Ocelot will be labeled the gay guy in fanfics. But seriously looking at it in a sense it's like he's playing mind games with Snake and trying to provoke him to get angry.

Kojima is just teasing with the female fans here using his weird sense of humour.

For those woman with a taste for the young handsome guys, We have Raiden VS Vamp with Raiden impaling Vamp and yet Vamp sticks it in further.

And the Ocelot VS Old Snake is for those who prefer them old. There's already a yaoi undertone with that Injection Scene moments before you take control of Snake for the final fist fight. The secret kissing scene is a confirmation of Kojima's message to the female fans as they are the only likely ones to ogle as Ocelot's chokehold for quite a while. The male players will retaliate straight away seeing that there's no way to save your process during the fight.

Still one of the best games of the year. There is no game I'm gonna enjoy as much as this until FF13 of course.
