There will be a combination live event next year featuring music from Hanasaku Iroha (nano.RIPE is confirmed), Tari Tari, and True Tears held in the spring.

Well guys, I finally did it. I managed to ruin the most heartwarming and climactic part of the show. (Language warning)

No need to thank me.

It's moe day, guys, and I'm surprised that Sawa's #6. Didn't think Tari Tari was that popular, but that interactive Sawa game must have done wonders.

In Japan, it's pretty popular, recepting and selling around the same level as Hyouka. For whatever reason though, western audiences largely dismissed it as another "slice of life/coming of age" ensemble drama and unfairly labelled it a Hanasaku Iroha clone. Which it isn't, since this show imo was significantly better since it didn't see-saw in quality and reamined largely consistent from start to finish .

Though I'm suprised as well why Sawa is up there instead of Wakana or Konatsu. Must be those boobs .

I don't think it's much of a surprise. She's generally the most level headed girl in the group, is incredibly athletic (Great at archery, riding and gymnastics), down to earth and confident and easily the type of girl anyone would love to have as a girlfriend. I couldn't help but feel like they were pandering her a little bit. I mean not only does she have all the aforementioned qualities, but she has the boobs (which they were keen to show off) and they made her do a pretty incredible dance routine practice for absolutely no reason (since it doesn't even appear in actual event). I guess it also helps that Taichi, a possibly love interest, leans dangerously close to the typical Everyman archetype.

Hmmph, there's more to the world than just boobs! I'm quite sure Taichi would agree that her greatest asset is behind her! :S

But in all seriousness, she is definitely the best looking of the group with the best fashion sense and generally remains the most level headed.

Of course, since that list doesn't contain Wakana and somehow pulled friggin Caro and Kyon's sister, I will just disregard it. Though sup to Kuroneko, Rika, and Homura of course.

mmm, to be honest I'm surprised she ranked only #6 (and Inaban #7)

Actually, considering who she finished ahead of (and the utter giants in front of her), that's pretty darn impressive of Sawa.

But yeah, Haak pretty much nails it.

I once joked to Pocari Sweat that each of the five main characters of Tari Tari brings a key element to the show.

Konatsu = Comedy
Wakana = Drama
Sawa = Sex Appeal
Wien = GAR
Tanaka = Everyman

Tari Tari did a good job of covering all the key angles with this show. It's no surprise that "Sex Appeal" is doing well for Tari Tari on the moe listings.

That's the other thing I forgot to mention. I think one of the strengths of Tari Tari is that few of the characters fall into the typical archetypes (The tsundere, the wingman, the childhood friend etc) and even those that do are not overtly so.

Why not? You didn't see anything GAR about Wien's big moment during his arc? I'm certainly not the only one who found that GAR, Haak.

Heck, even when Wien was chasing down that one member of the Condor Queens that was chasing after Wakana... That too was pretty GAR, imo.

Sorry but I just can't find something based on such a geeky desire to be that manly. That would be like calling Yuta Togashi gar if he actually managed to beat someone in his chuunibyou days. It just doesn't seem right somehow.
