6.5 was good enough, for a recap, I suppose. It was just a re-telling of the most plot-relevant events in a chronological order.

The only thing worth pointing out this week, I think, is that there were karaoke lyrics for the OP and the whole thing really seemed like it was from Amira's perspective.

FYI, in tonight's Yoru no Fantasy they confirmed (again) that this was a planned recap ep, decided pretty much on day one. Apparently they wanted to show to end on December 29th, but they only had 12 episodes, so they went and made an "episode 6.5" to fill out the extra week.

Amira's story gets revealed.
Things get shown from her perspective.
The whole plot so far got summarized.
So halfway through they decided to give us a summary..
It was fine, but a new episode would've been better.

Eh, it wasn't that bad in my opinion. And we finally got lyrics to the OP, I couldn't really find them anywhere. I'm surprised it's one of those bands that mixes English and Japanese equally into their songs. I only really know one band that does that, One Ok Rock, and this doesn't seem like them.

On that note, we got our weekly dose of FAVAROOOOO! back, so that's good. It felt weird not hearing that last week. Well, between last week and this week, I'm sure the voice actor's voice has recovered enough that he can shout out FAVAROOOOO! again next week.

It's been translated over at Lyrical Nonsense for a few weeks now but, looking at this episode, there are a few lines they screwed up ("the son of God I praised," was translated by them as, "the sound of God, hey, praise," for example).

Well if you want to get technical, speaking as a person who studies mythology and religion quite a bit for school and my free time, Satan and Lucifer have always been two separate entities. It wasn't until recently (and by recently I mean the last century or so) that the two have been considered the same person.

Speaking of Satan, it's kind of odd that the place Amara wants to go to is a frozen wasteland, especially when you take into account how in the Christian Religion, it is said that Lucifer froze the lake he was trapped in when he tried to escape. They might have chosen that location for Satan to essentially hibernate since he become the other key. Maybe someone is trying to resurrect him at the cost of bringing back Bahamut?

Well she's only going there because that is where the key is afterall. That said, I think it seems like she doesn't actually know that is basically a wasteland.

Azazel and Cerberos have already laid out the plot, and what we've learned since then just further confirms it: with Satan asleep, there's a power struggle among the highest ranking demons. The main opponents seem to be Lucifer and Beelzebub. Since possessing one of the keys that keep the formidable Bahamut sealed is the source of great political power, Beelzebub used his right-hand man Martinet to manipulate Amira into stealing the God Key. Whether Amira heading toward Helheim where the other key lies is a part of Beelzebub's plans or it is Martinet's own agenda is still up in the air - although I suppose Beelzebub would've done something about it already if things weren't going the way he wanted them to go. So, assuming that so far everything has been according to Beelzebub's plans, I guess he has a plan to deal with a resurrected Bahamut. (Perhaps it involves killing God/Zeus and Satan, or placing them in perpetual sleep, so he can rule the entire world.)

It seems like she doesn't even know where it is... She's going there because she's been told she can meet her mother there, I guess Martinet fed her a bunch of lies.

So did Azazel escape at the end? Or did Jeanne seal him?

That was well worth the two-week wait. All the fight scenes were very satisfying. And gorgeous. The animation of Jeanne's "transitioning" strike on Pazuzu was superb.

Man, Favaro's gotten pretty "attached" to his tail. I thought him being unable to cut it was just for comedic purpose. That, along with Amira's scars (it took me a while to figure out what they were) are great examples of the show's attention to small details. I really hope she gets her happy ending..

And the bromance is back! As happy as that makes me, does that mean we'll hear a lot less "FAAAAAAAAAAVAAAAAARRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOO"s? :<

I was sure he was going to bite it there and then but he seemed to use his teleportation (or maybe portal?) ability to get away as he had before when his ship got destroyed.

KAISAR!!! FAVAROO!! It's like they were having a "who is the more heroic" contest in this ep (btw, Kaisar won). And aaww, all that heartwarming friendship/bromance. Finally Kaisar knows the truth (part of it, anyway), so he's free from his grudge against Favaro... but then, he went back to help Favaro before he knew all that. Oh Kaisar. <3

(I never expected Favaro's tail to be actually useful... )

Azazel was hilarious in this ep, trolling the two (with Morita chewing the scenery for all its worth), and then getting KO'd by Jeanne. I really hope his boss is not going to off him for this failure, he needs to be around more.

I wonder what's up with Amira. All that eating was a bit ominous... and then she had Bahamut flashbacks when she saw the statue. I guess the latter is the key's effect on her, but the former...

So, Bahamut continues to be great fun. The only thing I'm still a bit "meh" about is the soundtrack. Some tracks are really good, but others are rather bland... this show would've deserved a soundtrack with more personality. Oh well, it's not bad or anything, so...

Morita doing the catchphrase was the icing on the cake. I love that guy so much.

No, he escaped, using the same method he escaped from Ship Sexy.

Azazel's former HQ, the floating ship of tentacled eldritch abomination, staffed by Azazel and Cerberos (and Pazuzu but he's just a cat). Azazel = sexy, Cerberos = sexy, therefore it's Ship Sexy. (To me, anyway. Well, it's dead, so there's that.)

To me it seemed like he was defeated but all that happens is he gets sent back. Like he can't really die.

Prepare yourself... More Bromance is coming... And please don't remind me of Ship Sexy right now, I'm still not over its death. Also, Favaro's uncuttable tail was able to not only fend off Azazel's attacks, but it was also able to restrain Azazel and keep him and Kaiser from plummeting to their deaths. All in all, it was a great episode.

Was Amira's "father" supposed to be Lavalley, or someone else? The face is the same, but the armor looks different, and I don't see why he would change his armor in the middle of a battle.

Yeah, he was. As for changing his armor.. who knows. He seems like a fairly shady character who I think wants to "use" Amira to revive Bahamut.
