Irc he said he want rewrite some parts so "noone would feel uncomfortable" about. If that's reason for suspension of novels, there is good chance it will return later.

In meantime as to pour salt into wound manga completely screwed Elf country arc...

Dunno, probably not. Manga publisher already missed window for renouncing it. Doing it now wouldn't look good IMHO, plus from what I heard sales of manga went significantly up so...

Anyway if mangaka plans turn it into classic TUEE story it would be better canceled.

I have just read the manga till the end of the elves arc. MC is not as bad as Chinese made him sound to be. Guess it could be because the story got retooled to tone down the more problematic parts of the webnovel like it happened to Gate? Leaving the controversy aside, the read was mostly enjoyable and easy on the mind. Just wished a better naming convention because doing it like Gundam is pretty cringy.

Author want edit already existing volumes, after that is done, he should resume with new ones.

after edit it will be fine for come back, the whole issues was because of the author's tweet long ago rather than actual issues with novels itself though
