I did not expect their house to be blown up and replaced by a ripcage entrance in the third episode. And they even changed the ending for the new house, nice. But man, life in the wild is dangerous. If they hadn't stepped out they would have been squashed by the fruit. Tiny lives live dangerous lives. XD

Episode 2:

Cute duet.. Mikochi singing with Konju.

Certainly did not expect to see skeletal fish and other similar things to appear in this anime.

- What's with cute girls camping this season?
- I know they needed tension, but at their size, falling shouldn't be a major issue.

Whoa, I got a little bit of survivor thriller vibe from episode 4. The part with the bird showed how dangerous their world can be for little characters like Mikochi and Hakumei. Intense stuff.

Love the way the show keeps filling in the lives of the characters, Mikochi making artisanal goods for a local store, and Hakumei has sure had a hard and varied past.

Owls...

Konju figured out the lay of the land this episode, I think. With Mikochi gazing over at Hakumei's work clothes with that fond smile and blush.

I enjoy watching this. It's a pleasant little trifle of a show.

Episode 6 is out. Iwashi is easily becoming my favorite character in this show. He has so much personality and neat chemistry with the two main girls.

Jada and Hakumei also had some nice interactions. Very human-like and I have to say, Hakumei's haircuit is adorable.

Iwashi is such a good boss and friend. And he looks cool with that nightsnail jacket. But he really needs to go out more if he had no idea that the city took down their park twenty years ago. Then again, I don't know how many years Iwashi lives and works nearby that city now.

This episode perfectly captures the moment when you're close to winning it big, losing it, and wanting to go at it again. Aw man, just one more week to go.

This week, Hakumei has a bag full of home-made explosives, for fun or profit.

This has been a delightfully charming little show which really put a lot into the whole world-building, and this world, together with the supporting cast of characters, really had a sense of place and community.
Plus a slightly wry sense of humour which I'd not expected.

Would love to see the manga get an English release - and a second season of the anime, of course.

Top three material this season, for me.

I gave it a 7/10. The world-building for their little universe was far more interesting than I ever expected going into it, and I liked the chill (yet occasionally humorous) vibe it had week after week.

I enjoyed this show a lot more then I expected at the start of the season. The characters were fun but the world building was excellent and I would very much like to see more of the world.

Round of applause for a proper finale. I LOVED IT when they showed all of the characters celebrating and having a good time at the festival. I really thought that Hakumei was gonna miss them; glad Mikochi had the bright idea of using the last C4 brick to get the caravan's attention. I thought the first couple episodes were slow, but it really picked up mid season for me. I'm gonna miss it. Solid 7/10

Oh, and the little tidbit of the final ED where it shows Ryokubirou taking the hair Hakumei cut off and tying it to her braid made me go back a few minutes AND THERE'S THE RED HAIR ON HER BRAID. Bumped up to 7.1/10.

I enjoyed watching this series and it would be fine with me if they made more episodes. It had a nice light touch to its stories with just the right amount of whimsy. Will miss this.
