I barely understand American football let alone follow it, but now seems a good time for the best Green Bay joke ever (I think this is from a John Steinbeck novel, but I might be wrong).

Two guys are at a bar and one is ranting about how much he detests GB. "The only things ever to come out of Green Bay are the Packers and ugly whores!" Second guy responds "hey, my wife is from Green Bay!"

"Oh yeah? What position does she play?"

Decent game, surprised Pitts played as poorly as they did.

Honestly, I'm still trying to figure out how Green Bay kept a team over Milwaukee and Madison (if they insisted on having a team in Wisconsin).

They seem pretty bipolar. One second they'll be stopping the other team in their tracks and the next the coverage will be piss poor.

Everything revolves around their pass rush. Ike Taylor is a good corner and Polamalu is a great player but they and the other players in that secondary are very beatable when the pass rush doesn't get there.

Gotta say, that was a great Super Bowl. ;D

Maybe I'll post a picture of myself later in the other thread with my new Packers T-shirt.

Well, this is it; season is over. Goodbye, NFL/NCAA Football thread.

I'm gonna miss you.

(Might be bumped if the CBA is done early or around draft-time, though.)

"The Packers are the only non-profit, community-owned franchise in American professional sports major leagues."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_B...Public_company

There are over 100,000 individual shareholders. The Packers are grandfathered by the NFL since they exceed the league limit of 32 shareholders per team.

I've wondered how much of the Packers unusual ownership structure reflects the state's Populist/Progressive political culture.

Nice win by GB. Glad Karma finally caught up to Rapelisberger. IMO what's interesting to note is that of all the teams that GB had to go through, the Eagles were the ones that gave them the best fight. Vick was a little bit off of possibly eliminating the would-be super bowl champs. I suppose the Steelers also were in somewhat of a similar situation, but they weren't even close to the end zone.

Wow, what a season. Apparently the Pats have 2 picks in rounds 1, 2, and 3 coming up, the Eagles are going to be reloading (GET ASOMUGHA NOW REID), the Packers might not be as strong next year (thinking Woodson/Driver = gone), and that's all before the CBA comes around.

Just wish there'd me some more football D:<

Edit: loved the Eminem commercials though.

You loved it but Detroit didn't, I'm expecting rage soon from the Motor City

Why would Motown rage at the commercials? I think Em presented the city as best it possibly could be.

I'd figure the amount of people that "wouldn't sell out" in the world would be less than 0.001%

He's doing what he wants to do, much like Ice T.

I never really read into world ratings.

Aside from expats and vacationers, the Super Bowl doesn't have the same international appeal like say......The Champions League.

I agree, without that pass rush the Steelers secondary is somewhat easy to pick apart. Rodgers tore up that secondary and made the defensive player of the year a non factor.
