Caesar is a merciless bastard, that's for sure.
Yet somehow he always manages to get others to believe him. It was about time Luffy showed up where the action was. So finally some new info about Caesar's illegal business.

Uhhh.... What?!?! Just how powerful is Law? So if Law is an ultimate swordsman, then how does Zoro compare to him?
Btw, I just want this arc to be over with. It felt like the fight with Vergo and Smoker lasted 20 episodes, but I really lost count.

That was a great episode. If only the production quality was always so high.
Quote:
I think Zoro is a better swordsman as far as actual swordplay goes, but I don't think Zoro would stand a chance against Law in a duel unless Zoro was in melee range at the beginning of their fight. (And then it's just down to who can draw fastest, which I would probably say Zoro) |

This was a good reminder of just how insane Law's ability really is. Listening to the episode again it really was more a compliment about the cutting prowess of his ability. In the past he certainly lost to Vergo, but that was some time ago. Surprise back then probably played its part, but I'm sure Law just needed time to grow like anyone else. Guys like Vergo probably haven't changed much over the past couple years, while the new rookies have been strengthening themselves.
I agree when it comes to a fight against Zoro it would come down to range. I'm sure as a swordsman Zoro is above Law, but that ability would be devastating if he couldn't get close to him in time. This whole thing did show that the crew has plenty of room for growth. Sanji really ran into trouble there against Vergo and that was before this whole super full body haki thing. Wonder how Luffy or Zoro would have fared if they had run into Vergo? Anyways I kind of liked how the fight was handled this episode. Was some good pace even with the occasionally cutaways to what everyone else was doing. Smoker put up one hell of a fight, but in the end had to let Law take his shot.

Who knew Caesar would turn into such a wuss after getting punched.
Lots of drama on more than one field. Smoker vs Vergo was pretty nice to watch. I kinda felt sorry for Smoker though.. Looks like he wasn't up to the task of taking Vergo down. The ending was just WOW!! I was totally impressed. Never saw that one coming.

I've been waiting to see this particular episode, and the anime did it justice (deservedly so at that). Lots of action and solid focus as to what was going on. The scene of Law's slice was very well done in terms of choreography, dramatic effect, animation, and music. And no one here is going to comment on Akainu's goatee ? Also, I suspect that the figure that appeared after Big Mom is Kaido (especially since following that mystery person we see Blackbeard and Shanks, which would give us a glimpse of all 4 yonkou).

This ep really played to the strengths of doing something more than just making a 'moving manga'. The cinematography of Law's slice was done to a t and the metaphoric slice of the SAD cog as Law's claim to breaking the gear was a nice little touch.

New Devil fruit!?
During the release of the weapon on mass destruction, One of the apple in the barrel that the workers had, turned purple and it looked like a devil fruit! I wonder if it is and how someone will get to it... After all, Punk Hazard is now inhospitable...

That is not really the important thing in that scene. I think it was actually to show what the Gas can do: Turning normal fruits into devil fruits. This means that one tiny fruit out there is not relevant if you can create HUNDRETS of devil fruits with that gas!
