Sorta related post...

Live-eviL Fansubs was created because the founder (sol) was up late one night, realized "Live-eviL" was kinda cool and registered www.live-evil.org and then needed something to do with it. He then recruited random people out of #BakaMX and the rest is history.

Also sorta related, when I first heard of Live-eviL I thought it was based on the name of that Square RPG, Live-A-Live. The second 'Live' is mirrored, in the logo.

But anyway, I think 'Eclipse Productions' is a pretty professional sounding name.

I think it's interesting how this thread has turned out.

I purposefully left "best" ambiguous in the OP, and everyone seems to clearly have strikingly different views of what "best" means when it comes to fansubbing group names.
Cool sounding, professional sounding, funny, identifiable, nostalgic, japanese origin...

Just goes to show you the diversity of opinions around the names.

What ever happened to the era of "Anime-X" groups, where "X" is reaplaced by some audacious noun.

I haven't checked up on this but I believe someone (can't remember who) was going to make a group called Oh Snap It's. The point being so releases could look like: [Oh Snap it's]Gundam_00_16.mkv. =D

But I wouldn't have guessed how it'd work out with the tag in the title, that is pretty awesome tho

IAD Fansubs maybe?
(You know, we're gonna give some people bad ideas now to create a new fansub group with a name that acts as a sentence starter in a tag.) *facepalms*

this one's pretty sweet tho.

I never know why every one includes KAA as a fansub group. When ever some one calls them that they go out of their way to correct them. "We're not fansubbers we're dvd encoders [long rant]"

People are obviously confused as to the purpose of this topic: The quality of the group's WORK is irrelevant.

Here we are judging only by their name .

(nyoro~n is still a prettty good name, though).
