I think they have plans to make 14 episodes for season two, last titled "My Sweet Home" and from the opening title scenes I think they have an option for season three since there is no way they can fit the construction of moon base arc in three episodes.

unfortunately people would rather have crap like gundam00 and clannad subbed... we'll just have to wait and wait. i was hoping makoto might pick it up, but it doesnt seem so. same shit happened with FLAG. atleast we got the first season of both shows. i wish subbers would give us some more adult shows and less moe crap. i still cant believe how lucky we are that baccano got subbed which was incredible, props to AYU for that. i guess there is still some hope for taste.

Can't say for sure but the opening credits for season two does suggests a possibility since some of the scenes are beyond the scope of season two such as Ryoko bearing a child.

Spoiler for In manga:

The manga is in hiatus presently after Goro goes to moonbase using an out dated Japanese H2 rocket against US's demand, to show that Japan still have ambitions to develop it's own space vehicle, to meet Ryoko who have given birth to the first space child.
During his trip to the moon he meets up with lostman and discusses their personal reason why they chose their specific route to space which is interesting and I believe it was a hidden message to inspire readers who dreams of going to space from the author.

According to TRSI, DVD1 should be out on February 19th. Of course, it could be pushed back, so don't put too much stock in this information.

If you check the timeline with some of the events that takes place within this anime you'll find that the author, Otagaki had predicted some provocative parallel within his storytelling.

One is 2nd gulf war.
Moonlight mile started it's serialization in 2000, 3 years before the US made advance into Iraq where lostman was shot down and caught by his enemy.

The ever rising price of oil
Of course this was not that had to predict but neverless the story talks that it was one of the reason why man vasted out to the moon to obtain Helium3 as an energy source in the first place.

China's ambitions into space
This is one of the most intriguing part with parallels with present day events, with PRC sending sending probes to the moon and/or their manned space mission obviously presenting their own ambitions.

I wonder what will be next?

I think the best thing in this show is the sex hehehe! goro and the Russian blonde was a pretty sex scene for a non hentai! wow so gorou puts a bun inside Riyoko's oven, I guess maggie lost the race.

Saw the first episode of the 2nd season, it was well done now if they would only tone down the sex and improve the character design I might actually rate this show a lot higher.

The sex thing has been toned down for a bit for the first ep and I've grown used to the chara designs.

I had a lot more fun watching season 2 than I thought. And I'm having naughty thoughts about that newsgirl

With the flood of asexual titles hostile to masculinity available in the West, a sex-charged and manly story about the conquest of the final frontier is a refreshing a change. Moonlight Mile's chief appeal is it makes no apologies about having two protagonists who are openly heterosexual, gruff, crude and curt with their feelings--in short, pretty dead on for real life adventurers. What's wrong with that?
