Dark humor moment: All those people and horses and people's and horses' body parts going flying off into the distance and not one Twinkle in the Sky?

It was particularly surreal with the shot of the team looking to their right and seeing a horse and rider go flying through the air parallel to their course.

Oh yea, when the horse got kicked in the air. I remembered that part in the manga. I was like "FIELD GOAL!" haha. Or when she was swinging the other dude in a spin, that was merciless ... and hilarious at the same time. Cruel in its beauty.

Aaaaahhh... The Windmill! I've been waiting for that scene to be animated. HAHAHA! Absolutely glorious carnage and brutality.

The animators have really outdone themselves with the intensity of the episode. Not just the soundtrack, but also the presentation of emotions going around in the last five minutes. The team screaming, literally pleading, for Rivaille to give the order to attack, the tension piling as the FT closes in. Oh dear Lord, I've already read the manga, but this still got my heart racing and my mouth telling my monitor to "GIVE THE ORDER! GIVE THE ORDEEEEERRRR!!!"

This is a really good episode. I like how Eren looks around and realizes everyone's about to piss their pants as well.

i been watching attack on titan since the first day it released and it looked really cool but you know, yea the giants are cool and all the gory kills and animation buuuut this series is kind of boring. Hey all im saying is this would be a pretty creative war series if the soilders would act more like soilders instead of just pissing there pants all the time, and if they would have made the main character more cool or uniqe and cut back on so much overly long talking scenes, i mean look at blue gender or muv luv, the story lines are pretty similar, like you know humans fighting a war against monsters. In those series they showed how horrific it is to fight monster just like attack on titan but the diffrence is that in attack on titan their afraid 24-7 and even when there fighting against the titans it doesn't feel like there fighting them its more like their attacking out of panic then battleing.

This is a series about survival mixed with strategical combat and horror not explosions and nonsensical action. I don't want it to go full idiot like Resident Evil where they lost their charm by having their main characters turned into Dante from Devil May Cry.

Some of these soldiers never encountered intelligent Titans. Figure this - literally, you are one of those soldiers, on a horse, riding with your comrades, and a fast Titan is approaching you hard from behind, killing off several of your other comrades whom are trying to stop it but they all fail. Realize it in your head. You have no idea why the plan changed all of the sudden and your looking over your commander wondering what to do. At least from that perspective, I wouldn't know what to do either and freak out seeing a Titan like that.

They've also made special scenes showing you the scale of the Titans and if you've read the Official manga (not the fan translated), the translation and in-depth of how tall the Titans are gives you a clear idea. Just imagine something that big is standing in front of you and it just wants to eat you for no freaking reason.

Aside from that, you mentioned Muv Luv Alternative - that had a completely different structure from characters, story, events and era and environment. Those two are completely unrelated to each other but only share one thing in common - Survival. Muv Luv Alternative does score better with story structure and character development, at least from my perspective vs. all other things I know about (Key VNs, Fate series).

Jean's drool actually made one of the biggest impressions for me this ep. I don't know any other animation studio that takes this much realistic detail into consideration when animating.

you see oviously muv luv and attack on titan are diffrent series all together but here are the key points im trying to say is similar 1 humans in a war against monsters 2 the horror of fighting those monsters these are the simularities i was talking about in muv luv humans used special weapons soilders and military tactics just like atack on titan in muv luv the monsters ate humans just like the monsters in attack on titan but dont get me wrong i perfectly understand the diffrence of weaponry in these two series and in attack on titan all the got is a grappeling hooks, swords, and one weak spot on the titans if those were my options i would be pissing my self too but thats where ur stuck on, reality! what im talking about it entertainment as a show theres nothing entertaining about 18 minutes of pure non etresting talking scenes which has really been saying im scared of the titans and i dont want to die the entire series and every person they show in the series is scared there is really no drama at all the other guy been saying he doesnt like blind action scenes but in this series the only thing we have to look foward too is the action scenes and the main chracter is not horrible but we get it ur mad we got but when the times come for him to step up he acts like a kid they could of made him more rebellious or something.

Muv Luv Alternative had clear depth of everything you had questions for and even the little things you wanted to know about, like the difference in Hives, enemies, strategies, Alternative plans, and so on. Attack on Titan still lacks to explain a lot of unanswered questions, they've explained how the 3D equipment works, the source of energy from gas, food, water, the walls and other things but I still have questions I want answers from. What's gonna suck is they will have this crap in the VN so I hope someone translates the VNs. Attack on Titan is still an on-going series (manga/anime wise) so room for structure and development is still going to take factor. I'll go post my stuff in the manga thread.

But I agree, once Eren turned into a Titan I was a bit disappointed but still liked the twist. So far, I am thrilled with the anime and manga.

ok yea thats what im saying, it could be one hell of a war series you know tactics, stratigies,etc i see that but soilders are constantly scared and that would be fine and all before the battle and approprite amount of panic but there they are crying, screaming, constantly complaning about there missions before it even starts and it is a horror but look at muv luv there is a military horror series right there and they did and they did it much more better and something else real quick let me tell u that the second eren turned into a titan it turned into a diffrient series all together it no longer just a war series its going to turn into a high flying explosins fighting series granted also a war series but just like resident evil and one more thing even u have to admit the story line is freaking boring nothing but talking evry episode u just hope for action there is absoutlely no drama in the story lines

Did you missed Ep 17 or something? The soldiers were all pretty confident till the Female Titan showed up and destroyed an entire flank. Nevermind that none of their tactics don't work on her even under the best conditions, but the mission directives have completely changed to seemly counterintuitive orders. There is build up of anxiety because few people know what's going on while everybody else is getting decimated left and right. Nobody constantly crying and screaming either and hell the Recon Corps are still fighting the FT despite being horrible outmatched. It's quite clear that isn't your routine mission or situation.

oh no i dont read manga it dosent do nothing for me i love anime the colors the sound, story plots the back ground music the animation i love everything about anime manga just doesnt do it for me which sometimes i regret cause i would like to go further in to series but what can u do.

Yea dude. I hate manga with passion. This is my fifth or fourth manga I am currently on and going to complete. I'm more into visuals, sounds and animations than anything else - maybe holograms in the future! But anyways, I would give this one special exception just to see the story. You can read the manga anywhere on the Internet, or I would recommend to borrow/purchase the Official translation which is way better than the fan translation. If you have a monitor you can adjust, like Asus PB238Q then you can flip it vertically and read the manga with pleasure - not to mention this is an IPS panel. I sat there and drilled through the whole series in less than 20 hours listening to Attack on Titan and Vocaloid (house, electronic and metal types). Lots of amazing moments. There are several scenes which they purposely never implemented in the anime for good reasons (it would be stupid if they did). I'm sure they will implement them at the right moment.

Anyways, this is a good series. You'll see what will happen in the next episodes.

To give further credence to the theory on who the Female Titan is, I noticed that she mercilessly killed the soldiers this week even if they were running away. Contrast that with the fact that she let Armin go after looking at his face last episode. That would indicate that she knows Armin and has sympathy for him.

So 2 parts of the episode that was interesting (besides the awesome Female Titan pawning everyone) were when all the guys noticed how much of a goddess Krista is and how really, really happy (think cat in heat) when the Female Titan sees Eren. Btw, Krista better never get killed. I'll probably break something if that happens.

Oh, btw, what is the purpose for the Female Titan to find Eren? Is it to kill him, as an enemy? Is it to capture him, for further study of his complete form or maybe try to convert him to their side? Or even another reason?

I think that one of the unique things about this series is that the soldiers are portrayed as having fear, and lots of it. I think this is a good thing because war really does suck and not all fiction should try to cover that up. Another advantage is that it makes the true badasses really shine.
