Somehow we should be able to time warp direct from the current stage of economy development to an affluent stage. Where are those high paying jobs come from? Let me remind you that China has no big international corporations like Intel, IBM, Windows, apple, google, toyota, Samsung yet.

If they want to fight, I guess U.N has no choice but to kill them all. Down to the last of the 6,000. We don't need another FARC or North African militant group drawing mercenaries into that area. Quote:
Unfortunately, it IS economic warfare right now that could balloon into an economic Cold War. China is attempting to break into the US market through acquisitions via "private firms" (I don't really believe in "Chinese private firms", the government has interests in them one way or another) - Yahoo is the first big step. What US has is the cutting edge technology, combined with gigantic China's manufacturing infrastructure, could have made China the biggest economy for at least two centuries. Many countries are attempting to stop "China from buying out the world" by instituting political ownership, a step towards de-privatisation and nationalisation - which could hurt market liquidity. All wars are won by the biggest factories - those international corporations started out by building on their soil, then exporting the lower-end jobs to save cost. Right now the biggest factories are in China, so who will win the economic war in the future? One day it would become that China owns those Big Corporations on their soils and your children would be complaining that their jobs are going to US - or maybe with the size of China, it might not be as bad because there is always another Chinese rural village to exploit. *sarcastic*

Dude I am TELLING you Putin would be the most EPIC James Bond villian! He ALWAYS gives off that vibe in these awesome photos!
Anyways, the Middle Class/Liberals need to unify and actually show that they have a viable candidate. A certain amount of youth, and a high amount of workers still either LIKE Putin or resign to the fact that there is no one strong enough to take Russia in a different direction while generally maintaining stablility. I'm still trying to find out actual demographic breakdowns of who is for Putin and who is not. Western Media is kinda lazy in that aspect. I'd suppose a certain amount of Moscow and St. Petersburg, along with a considerable proportion of the urban areas East of the Ural mountains are still for him. I hear towards the west, support on the ground drops considerably. In Vladovostok, there is considerable appeal towards the Communists apparently. |

Putin's main "power" is north caucasus(94% for him), budget workers(police, army, hospitals etc.) - even if they are agains Putin, they have not much of a choice, some part of the elder generation(mostly those who lost their faith in communist party and Zyuganov particularly and those who see Putin as a strong leader with KGBish past etc.) and brainwashed(not all of them of course) youth from "Nashi" organisation. Putin has only about of 24% votes in Moscow and St. Petersburg* - propaganda has less effect in large cities(thanks, internet). * - based on internet polls and so on. The real numbers are high, but still - he's loosing it here.

Don't you find it odd that what is supposed to be private is becoming public (like marriage, food diet, choice of religion, child rearing, etc), and what is supposed to be public is becoming private (police, fire, banking, etc)?

Oh I meant to say, considerable portion of people WEST of the Ural Mountains in urban areas, silly me. You really think that some of the Nashi kids are out and out "brainwashed"? |
