It wouldn't be "marketable" to put a character with those marks in a magazine imo. They would have to edit them out.

Well I really doubt they’re going to show her in a swimsuit without scars and suddenly have her in the series with them. You know those types of fans; there’ll be bloody hell to pay for “ruining her perfect body” or “false advertisement” or somesuch.
If she was going to have scars, they would’ve just keep them covered with something in the magazine scan to be consistent with the series.

Of course, much of our talk is assuming Akane will be in a swimsuit at all. We actually don’t know for a fact she’ll be partaking in this next week. For all we know she may want to skip out of it for some reason, or maybe something else.

I want to see Yuuta’s reaction to Rikka’s swimsuit though. I don’t think his body is ready.

Finally saw the episode for myself and,

Wow, a complete reversal of the old shounen/seinen “girl falls for dense MC” trope. I’m impressed.
Of course, the complete reversal goes full course.........really, Rikka? The “hey wanna go on a date?” “Sure, but sorry I’m dense and think you mean all of us together” cliche? -_- And the whole rest of the episode was Rikka oblivious to Yuuta’s worries about her as per reverse dense-MC-liked-by-girl.
After a scene like that this series better not leave the romance on an open ending.

Twintails isn’t leaving a good impression on me. I’m not at all a fan of the bratty, abusive, b****y types.

And Akane’s sanity is slowly but surely deteriorating.....

The villian being easily set off was a mainstay of the original live action Gridman series (and its 90s USA remake).
Her revelling on the deaths she's caused is new to this series though.

I don't know, man. It's not even nearly as good or as hype as the original IMO. Like, I get that people want to make a modern cover of an old song sounds different, but OxT's take does not improve anything from the original song. For example, Saint Seiya's modern cover of "Pegasus Fantasy" works better coz it still has the hype and power in the song albeit differently:
