I can, actually. A friend of my brother ended up with a hospital bill of close to half a million dollars (long story, terminal lymphoma patient). I just would rather not think about those fees.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, is why you buy health insurance when you are young, so that when you're in middle age to elderly, you can be cared for. (And start saving up for your funeral. Funeral costs aren't getting any cheaper.) And Takehito Koyasu plays Sugou to perfection. He's basically voicing the role as President Kuroi but with more menace to his voice. I've always found it interesting how he has such a distinctive voice, but can somehow make it sound from menacing to trustworthy to anything in between with just some slight adjustments... Edit: This is forgivable, given that this story was written in the first half of the 2010s, when MP3 devices hadn't taken off as much as they did, but Kirito really ought to be bringing an MP3 recorder everywhere with him. I do that with my iPad. Then again, I've found that it's useful to have some kind of insurance against flip-flopping managers, which a normal high school student wouldn't experience, lol.

I find it interesting most people it seems are focused on the RL antics like Mr. Creeper there's fetish for touching and smelling comatose girls apparently while I'm busy over here lamenting the change in game setting the most... /nerd.
But yea fairies? Really? Ehhh...I...well to say I'm not sold on what I saw from the Op would be an understatement. I thought SAO the game had a fantastic low fantasy setting to it, but now it feels like the setting is gonna be magical bright happy fantasy land? Having everyone running around with derpy ears and silly wings has me worried about how much I'll enjoy the show going forward more then anything else I saw this episode I fear.

I don't get it. Suguha loves her brother, but after finding out that they're cousins, she "falls in love" with him. Maybe it's just me, but blood-tie means nothing, against long time spent relationships.
Sugou? Naturally to hate him, but he brings the story to the table.

oh lord, the amount of rage that built up in that short amount of time was astronomical. also, the amount of Sugu wasn't enough. THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE!!!!
as for the asshole, he just needs to bring up that Asuna was willing to kill herself if they were to be parted.. but holy crap, this will be an issue of rage for episodes to come!

(And I think half of the reason it causes so much "rage" is precisely because keep hyping up how much "rage" it's going to cause, and so people get into this "boy I have so much rage!" mood about everything. People should just take things in stride. He will cause some annoyance, but he has all the makings of a middle-tier mid-boss. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the process of seeing how Kirito and all get through this.)

I'm saying right now that the faerie thing is going to drive me nuts. It's just the ears. I'm alright with elf characters, but a whole game world of people with pointed ears is going to drive me crazy. At least SAO was somewhat grounded and reflected real world looks.
Also I have to say "Kayaba you suck." He can't even get people out of his own game properly. Geniuses....can't count on em. Now Kirito has a week to get Asuna back to reality before Captain Creepy starts feeling her up.....Of course they have the serious issue of how long she can last. Like she said in an earlier episode their bodies are only getting weaker. It's got to be awkward for the players coming back. Everyone must be treating them like they were in comas. Even Suguha was surprised at Kirito's skill, even though it should be apparent he's been fighting for his life with a sword for two years. So yeah he should be pretty good by now. Suppose that's the tough thing for people looking at it from the outside. An artificial world can be pretty real when the monsters actually kill you. Quote:
I'm hoping against hope that her unrequited feelings aren't going to be a major focus here. There is literally no hope for Suguha and that'd be the same even if Asuna didn't exist. He's known for years and still considers her his sister.

And of course, Asuna just has to look spick and span even after two years of not eating, drinking or moving around at all in her bed. It's as if her character is only based on the fact that she's beautiful. And can cook.
And of course, the game introduces a new love rival for Kirito (whom he's probably going to beat down later as well just to prove how macho he is). Who is of course, not as good-looking as he is (all the guys in the game look uglier than Kirito). And he sniffs Asuna's hair which she hasn't washed in two years and two months. Yuck. And of course he's an idiot who tells Kazuto everything off the bat. Wish fulfillment fantasy much.

(And the cooking thing... wasn't that already explained last arc? She took up the skill out of self-interest because Kirito introduced the idea that food in that world didn't actually have to taste like crap.) I'm pretty sure they could still do things like wash her hair (at least the parts you can see), even if they can't take her helmet off. Just because she can't wash it herself doesn't mean that it hasn't been washed...

Personally, I already went through months of that in Accel World just recently and would not welcome another 10 weeks of it in SAO. So, hopefully, the direction will be different.

Not that SAO isn't good, mind you. I'm still watching it for a reason. But sometimes things like that should be brought to light, after all.

Yes, Rrrrraaaaggggeeee. What a slime ball. Keeping her in "a" game just so he can marry into her family.
Ugh. Just hate this guy. At least Noumi was just pure evil. This guy is just a slime. Ooo.. he creeps me out. Blah. Hope he gets a sword in the face. |

Of course, I do think the "rival" is not really a rival in any sense; he's just a disposable villain. I'm quite convinced that he has all of zero chance no matter what he does. So yes, it is sort of annoying that his reason to exist is only to cause trouble, but it's not really to make Kazuto look good, but more to give him the impetus to act.

Suguha is the most beautiful girl ever in SAO anime, period. I can't believe how well they've designed her character, it's just simply amazing.
[mod edit: no novel hints] So far the episode is looking pretty good, and I've got the feeling that ALO's pacing is going to better than the SAO arc at least. Again, Suguha SO SEXY IN THAT PYJAMAS! |

Scorpios do always take things too seriously.
Oh, and I'm unsure on something; when Fiancee guy says that Asuna would reject him because she 'never liked' him, did he mean that she never liked him romantically, or that she just flat-out never liked him at all? |
