9.9/10 by far the best anime of the season year, even though the official english subber tried really hard to butcher 3-4 episodes... Robotech-style

Anyway, -0.1/10 because the anime staff didn't try an original and more conclusive ending... since there won't be a sequel within the next 2-3 years (if ever), it wouldn't really matter whether it succeeded or failed, and the anime staff has shown a lot of talent in adapting the original material at all levels!

put it simply.

If someone asked me to recommend one show from this season, this series is the one I would tell them.

It's indescribably funny and demented. Everything is just so strange. It's like a children's book, yet with a bizarre undertone.

I wish someone who did read the novel could make some summaries or something like this...

I have to say, this was not a particularly good episode to use as a finale... it was rushed as fuck and ultimately resolved very little of the plot threads introduced both in the previous episode and the episode itself. I too wonder if it was like this in the source material... doubt we'll find out anytime soon though.
That said, the show as a whole was bloody amazing.

9.9/10 from me as well. This anime should be longer then just 12 episodes.

Best show of the season IMO. It seems these last 2 eps take place before 3/4. Watashi gets my respect for having the courage to continue sharing a room with Curly after seeing that scene, although I'm surprised Curly didn't go psycho on Y, when she and Watashi started spending time together. And I was wondering what was up with the dark-haired girl touching Watashi's hair last ep, and it's MUCH creepier than I thought.

Wow what an eccentric series. Not the most hilarious and entertaining show, but it was certainly one of the most interesting shows. The way they tell each story was so unique, like a mystery. The structure of the direction of each story felt so strange. Instead of telling a moral with the story, I feel like there's just a story with a bunch of clues or data. Whether you want to use that information to make meaning out of the series is up to you. With the episodic nature of the series and with how intellectual it feels, I feel like there's some message I should be getting (Unlike a comedy where you just laugh and forget about it.), but it's so open ended, I'm not quite sure what to think! But I think that's the beauty of this series ,that there's just a lot of ways to interpret it (the characters, the story, the moral, etc.).

My feelings for the series are a little mixed, I realized, after watching this last episode. On one hand I loved the complexity, but the show is so different from the norm and my expectations, that I kind of dislike the series for being so damn smart and over my head. In the end I think it's unique enough that I want to call it artistic. The complex storyline wasn't bad, but I think I really missed the level of wit and humour in the first two episodes. If Jinrui could have kept my mind boggled but really entertained and laughing my head off, this could have been one of my favorite shows of all time. If it were just a little more conventional in trying to be more entertaining, I think is what I want to say.

Still, this was one of two series this season that I absolutely had to watch the day it came out, every week for this season of anime (The other one being Yuruyuri for it's laughter inducing ability.) so I can't deny it being one of the best anime, for probably this year. Good show. I wouldn't mind seeing more. But besides the 2nd eps, when I try to size up the season after viewing the last eps, I think I'll forget what most of this series was about though. Kind of sad. I just need a show to be more stimulating to be memorable.

Switching gears from opinion on the show: The last line at the end of the credits, "Mankind is still in decline" almost sounds like they're planning another season. Maybe that comment was directed at the OVA or light novels. Anyway there's no reason to lament the end of the series just yet I think . Here's hoping to another season. I've alrdy bought some of the LN!

While I do love seeing her get the recognition she deserves for being an amazing main character, the elitist in me can't help but think along these lines.

Get your filthy paws off 'Me' you damned dirty apes!

Shows get's a 10/10. I's hard to pull off a witty series without having the witty bits too smart and fly over everyone's head.

Haven't watched this show yet, was waiting till it was over.

So what's the chronological order that's attuned to the LN order?

They are from the 5th volume, so that's flashback.

Tl;dr
10 (vol 1) -> 7-8 (vol 2) -> 5-6 (vol 3) -> 1-2 (vol 4) -> 9 (vol 4) -> 11-12 (vol 5) -> 3-4 (vol 6)

We don't get the explanation about the decline in human population until the end.

In fact, it seems people live a pretty comfortable lives. No war, no pollution, no starvation. Many appliances, machine, vehicles still function. So why is mankind in decline?

One thing that I notice is there aren't many males around. There are old men but not many boys, and girls outnumber boys in school. Could it be that the decline in human population is because of the decline in male?

I have read an article about the disappearance of the Y chromosome. Maybe this is what's happening in the show.
