I am generally not interested in brainless silly stuff, but To Love is just so entertaining, so I guess once in a while, turning off my brain is not such a bad thing.

I started Mx0 and To Love around the same time, and at first I thought Mx0 was better than To Love, but I think that has changed for now.

P.S. When Lala's dad said he was capable of destroying the earth, did anyone else get DBZ vibes?

Is it just me, or does the recent chapters seem semi-plot-ish? It's still brainless harem fun, but it felt like there's more substance to recent chapters.

The latest chapter for one reminds us that time actually flies in Torabu, not just the girls.

New school term, new troubles on the way

Rito's out watering the plants (and he's used to Lala's weird plant, it even greets him ), and he's thinking about how he's going to be in the same class with Haruna again. Goes back to his room, and Lala's there...fresh out of the shower

They go eat breakfast with little sis Mikan, who is now in sixth grade. While Lala and her are talking, Rito reminisces about the events from last chapter. They run to school, and Lala decides to save time by going 100mph with poor Rito in tow Rito tells her to slow down, and she suddenly stops and sends him flying, literally

Cut to Eve (no, I won't call her Yami ) on the roof of some building eating taiyaki and reading the romance book she bought in 43 while feeding two stray cats (one of which is black ). Rito crash lands on top of her, and of course she takes it as another 'challenge' and Naru-punches him into the sky. Lala looks for him, and he conveniently falls head-first right in front of her

Lala chuckles a bit, and tells Rito that the spot they're currently at was where he mistakenly confessed to her. Lala tells him that she knows the confession wasn't meant for her but for someone else. She blushes and tells Rito that she likes him, and she'll try to win him over so one day he'll confess to her for real, which stuns Rito for a bit.

He checks his watch and notices they're running late, so Lala whips out a new invention that teleports them to the school....naked...and poor Rito ends up right in front of Haruna's...crotch (and gets slapped again, guy never gets a break ).

Meanwhile, off in the background a new girl is watching them, and declares that Rito and Lala have been disturbing the peace at school, and being in the same class, she's not going to tolerate it any further...(potential nuisance, or new love candidate for Rito? maybe both )

At least we know Lala's father's arrival didnt signify the end of the series.

Yui gets "initiated" into the Tolove world

Rito starts thinking about Lala's "confession", but he still has a soft spot for Haruna (whom he thinks is shunning him after the incident last chapter). After class, Rito and Lala are cleaning the hallways when Yui introduces herself as the class 1-b rep. She gets right to the point and talks about the disturbance last chapter when Rito and Lala showed up in their birthday suits As she explains about the situation being inappropriate, she blushes (closet perv...me LIKES ).

She points out Lala's tail being strange, and grab-happy Lisa shows up and says she's an alien (and she and Mio fondle the tail like crazy, where's a video camera when you need it... ). Then Rem storms in yelling at Rito again, and Yui's hair catches his nose, causing Run to appear and...you know the rest

Rito tries to flee but trips and knocks Peke off Lala's head, giving Yui an eyeful (as if she hadn't had enough already ). Back in class, nominations are being held for the new class secretary. Yui eagerly volunteers, while Haruna says she can't due to her tennis lessons. Lala suddenly volunteers, and Yui, determined to protect the school from Lala and Rito's mischievousness, gets serious...

Chapter 49 was good. I really liked the way Lala confronted Rito.

Chapter 50's fanservice was overwhelming. Looks like things will get pretty interesting between Lala and Yui.

For some reason, I am enjoying this manga way more than I should. It's so silly, which is usually not my cup of tea, but I guess the attractive drawings of the characters do help, and then you have some good developments here and there, mix with some comedy.

Reading from raws and scanlations, there's still one thing I don't get.

Torabu is infamous for it's minor "resets", since some "problematic outcomes" can really spawn a whole volume's worth of nonsense if it wanted to expand on the comic relief. Thankfully, Torabu loves reset, and most of the things turn out to be fine the next chapter. :3

But I still can't tell if Haruna and co. (more the friends than Haruna) are being playful and nonchalant with Lala's alien identity or are they just "playing along" with this alien thing, which they think it's just a game or something. Besides, there's still the Haruna/Ikki(Devilluke)/Lala affair which they never quite mentioned on how much Haruna's "confused" now about the whole thing.

I'd say the former. Lisa certainly loves that tail

She's probably just happy that Lala stayed on Earth, so she put it behind her.

It was near the end of chapter 46, when Rito accidentally blurted out that she was an alien to everyone.

Deviluke vs Kotegawa...not live on pay-per-view

Raw released, here's the summary:

The election is underway, and Yui starts by declaring that if elected, she will protect the public morals of the school and provide a healthier lifestyle bla bla bla. Moderate applause from the crowd, while Haruna asks Lala what she plans to do. Lala cheerfully stands up and pronounces that if elected, she'll make every day a holiday so no one will have to go to school anymore Crowd erupts in laughter while Haruna quickly tells her that's impossible. Yui scoffs and thinks she has the election in the bag.

Lala is confused, so Haruna suggests she ask the students what they want to improve. Lala starts with Rito, who just wants peace (poor dude ). Then she asks Saruyama, who (along with several other lonely nerds) want to get closer to the girls. Lisa and Mio show up and suggest making "lovelier uniforms" (with shorter skirts ). After jotting all this down, Lala whips out her magic wand and proceeds to grant those requests, much to Rito's horror

Lala makes two "love badges", which when attached will make a guy and girl fall for each other instantly. To demonstrate, she puts one on Rito and is about to put the other on Haruna...but then Yui shows up and snatches the badge from Lala, having overheard and immediately disapproving. Before she can say anything else though, the badge affixes itself to her and changes her outfit (just like Lisa and Mio suggested, pervs ). Rito is immediately "drawn" to her like a magnet since he's wearing the other badge, and Yui pounds on him with her fists in anger, which sends the badge flying away.

Back in class, the results are being announced. To Yui's surprise, Lala only received two votes, which sends Yui into an ecstatic mood ("they all like me! they share my ideal vision!"). But she is quickly dragged back down to reality when they announce that she also only received two votes . The real winner, to Rito and Yui's surprise, was Haruna, who won with a whopping 30 votes. This also surprises Haruna, as she doesn't recall participating. Lisa and Mio wonder if Lala is disappointed with the results, but Lala proudly admits to adding Haruna as a candidate (making Rito yell, "do you even know how an election works?!" ) .

As Haruna reluctantly accepts her new role, poor Yui freaks out

Looks like Jump hasn't been too kind to Torabu as of late, since the series hit a record low last week in the rankings. Sadly, new girl Yui's story has been shelved for now as we move into a "new" arc...
