I don't think Eva is as battle crazy as Alucard, but I can imagine her being interested in fighting Mana, even if it's on Mana's chosen terrain. It's not like loli Yoda has any particular goal in life

You don't remember the murderous glee on her face as she was handing Fate his ass back in the Kyoto Arc? Especially after he put a gaping (if temporary) hole in her. Tell me that wasn't an Alucard moment... It's not constantly dialed up to 11 like with Alucard, and it's certainly more evident in her older scroll self than her current mellowed self, but it's still undoubtedly there.

I like the Alucard comparison. There are more than few similarities between the two... ^_^

Even with 15 pages, i felt like there was enough material as we'd get in the standard chapter length, so i'm cool with it.

Six years of entertainment and we're not long past halfway, any estimates as to how long the whole manga will last?

I think Akamatsu himself estimated the manga will be roughly 400 chapters. Of course, that could be subject to change.

he said negima is suppose to be 1 school year. Since we are already at ch300, i don't see how another 100 chpater would be enough for everything that is plan.

Well Ken Akamatsu did say that Negima would probably get to 400 but shouldn't get to 500. But he also said there wouldn't be an arc as long as the festival whihc was a miscalculation in his side, as how long the magic arc would take. Of course he don't know exact how many chapters there are till the end but rather just how much the story there is left and it may end up as less or more chapters than he planned at first.

Not much longer, since I think Zazie's sister revealing her true form is functionally the same as Zazie doing so. From that, given Akamatsu's comments, one could say that this will be the final storyline.

I smell a loophole there.

There are still too many loose ends to finish the series anytime soon, and apparently they still have to return to Mahora to solve the whole problem (I don't think I'm actually spoiling anything here since the signs have been there for many chapters now). I'd say they still have a mega arc more ahead, which should take the whole span until Chapter 400.

Wow.
My first reaction on Mana being a half demon was "asspull".
But funny thing, i also re-read the beginning of the school festival arc yesterday.
And noticed that in the mini arc about the ghost girl, Mana was the only one to clearly notice the girl. While they are chasing her, she states "She is well at hiding, but she cannot escape my demon eyes", with a closeup of her pupils shape becoming strange.

Welcome to Negima. The only real asspull in the whole series so far was Zaziesister, and we'll probably be finding something (other than an ancient splashpage) that makes that more sensible before too long.

I'm thinking they're the equivalent of her sister's "summon" (for lack of a better term). That giant female monster hovering behind her. Makes sense that Mahora Zazie's might not be as developed, since she's younger.

Isn't this a general discussion thread, like every other "[Name] Manga Discussion" thread on the site? I don't know how well versed in Negima you are, but as hinted by the "220 chapters in advance" foreshadowing comment, this manga has a history of revisiting ideas from previous chapters. Any healthy Negima discussion is going to need to involve things that aren't necessarily "specific to the current chapter(s)".
