I want to back up what LyricalAura was saying about getting the plot relevant scenes. It's actually really important to see all the scenes, the most important being Rudolf and Kyrie's special scene. You don't really get everything out of the story if you didn't see all the scenes, sadly.

As for the medals, each group of questioners standing together counts as a group (Kyrie and Rudolf, for instance). If you get all of the medals in a group, then you immediately get an extra scene with those characters. These scenes are plot-relevant, so you should do a playthrough where you get all of the medals in order to see everything, but the total number of medals you get doesn't affect the plot later in the game. It just changes a couple phrases that refer to which prize you get for the quiz tournament.

I definitely noticed that not getting the medals changed the ending of each group, but I wasn't sure how much or if it affected anything later on (since I had heard various things about that, as well as that the slice of cake did something, though I guess that was wrong). Thanks again for clearing all that up!

first of all,
thanks to the guys and girls at witch hunt for delivering this to us.

Now i recently encounterd a problem on the mac release of umineko now i'm not sure where the problem lies, but i recently updated my os X from snow leopard to Lion release3,
i can start umineko but the moment i want to go fullscreen, the application dissapears and needs to be restarted, anyone encounterd this aswell?

I had some problems with full screen, here's how I fixed it:
In the Umineko English folder there should be a ons.cfg file. Edit that and add the line:

window-width=x

X being your monitor's native resolution width in pixels. My native resolution is 1680x945 so I would write window-width=1680.

You can create an ons.cfg on your own, I don't think it comes with any versions.
Just make an empty text file and rename it ons.cfg with the line Jaden wrote in it.
There is actually a guide that explains how to do this in the ONScripter Help Mac version.

In a way I was wondering if everyone knew how to do this after the problems some people had with the font used in the quiz, good thing it came up.

Please be advised that the Mac OS X Lion developer previews are exactly what the name says: previews intended for developers. If you are indeed a registered developer who can legitimately download and install the previews, then your NDA forbids you from discussing it on a public forum, and as a developer you should know that you are on your own with prerelease software.

If you are not a registered developer, then you are asking for help with pirated software, which is against forum policy. Your views on software piracy are your own business, but asking for help with it is pretty bad form.

If there are indeed issues with ONScripter-EN on Mac OS X Lion, I will fix them when it is legally available.

Quick question, did Episodes 1-4 ever get patched for the new epitaph translation? There was some talk about it, but no definitive yes or no.

1: does a culprit always lie in purple? or just that they can lie?
2: If someone says something that isn't true, but they think it is true, is that considered a lie?
3: one of the rules say that the culprit is among those appearing in the story. Do the 6 "victims" of the first twilight count as appearing in the story, even though they have no spoken lines?
