Yeah, that was a pretty good scene. The second i seen her standing there - i just knew Ken would be looking. :3

Can't say i have a fav' out of the scenes - but that one, and the out-door bath have to be some of them.

I did the same thing when I realized what was going on in the scene where the characters are portrayed as actors filming a live version of Lamune - specifically episode #5 (That's the episode involving Kenji's sister Suzuka and the telescope). Most of the girls' dialogue, Suzuka's reaction when talking about her brother (and her glasses too, come to think of it) are all inside jokes for those familiar with the original game, where you (as Kenji) have the option of selecting a siscon incest path featuring Suzuka.

Edit: Yet another reason I'm glad they decided to have the anime follow only Nanami's route instead of trying to incorporate the others...

Wow... nice little collection of clips. If some of these are incorporated (like Nanami's mom and Kenji's dad... or Nanami play-acting a magical girl as they watch tv) ... I may have to sell something to order these.

O fiizzbin..... now I'm watching the whole thing again instead of working on my bathroom remodel. sigh... www.amazon.co.jp has all the volumes for 6090 yen each (about $300 total). Last year I would not have blinked but this year, my "froufrou" budget is limited to a few figures and a Tsukuyomi Moon Phase at this point. Maybe next spring...

What?! So Suzuka is NOT Kenji's blood-related sibling?

I must admit, this completely changes how I look at her... and frankly, it scares me.

They are at least DVD extras, because I have now seen the files named as such on an unnamed nyetwork. Thanks so much to Shiroth for mentioning these.
Yes, I understand that they are on the DVD somehow, but can someone clarify if they are actually part of the episode as it is watched on the DVD.

Were these scenes edited out of intact episodes to be presented in this form? Or were they presented as extras, relying on the watcher's imagination to remember the context.

Does anyone actually know the answer?

NoSanninWa, they are actually IN the DVD versions of the episodes as well. They are not just extras. If you watch a DVD version episode they will be there, the episodes are slightly longer than the TV versions

as to whether for HKG's release they were just edited out or also included on the DVD as an extra, it could be either, if you know chinese you can go ask HKG ^^. I just used their video release with permission for mine.

and daniel:
He said incest... ie Suzuka would be blood related to him.

With the type of story Lamune followed, having each route would seriously destroy everything a long the way, but its still good how they at least managed to add parts of the girls stories into the series.

Did you actually read what you quoted?

Anyway, the extra scenes were great. Much like everyone else it's gotten me in the mood to rewatch Lamune. Thanks to Maniac(I presume) who was the one the released these with english subs and the HKG group. I would buy the R2s but I've already spent too much on DVDs this year. Same position as Vexx really. I'll keep everything crossed in the hopes that someone will pick this up for R1 release. Yes, I know how unlikely that would be.

AFAIK, Suzuka and Kenji are indeed blood-relations. And there is a "Kenji x Suzuka" route in the game.

I have not actually played Suzuka's route (I've stumbled through the Nanami and Tae routes and probably understood about half of it) so there may be a surprise revelation in Suzuka's story arc where it turns out that she and Kenji are not really siblings. But I don't recall anything in the parts that I have seen that hinted that they were not siblings. Maybe someone who has a better understanding of the game can clarify this.

Absolutely correct - Lamune was a game conversion that was actually done well. Every girl had some time in the spotlight where we were able to learn more about them, but it was all done within the context of how they were intertwined with the relationship between Kenji and Nanami.

I loved everytime when Suzuka said "pityful" after Hikari did all that nasty stuff to that guy(whatever his name was). During some scenes I was like "wtf" though, as they just seemed pointless to me. Some were quite funny though, like the first one and last one. Plus after watching the last one I really got an urge to rewatch Lamune. Well, the fanservice wasn't bad. It was a bit of a change, since IIRC there was none in the actual series.

How funny would it be if actually Kenji's father and Nanami's mother got married, and so would Kenji and Nanami. I thought that it would be hillarious...

Probably why they were cut

And we could have Suzuka shuffling between homes, while trying to get through her last year of high school. I see a lot of comic potential here...

Well, I just popped in DVD 2 as an example and yes, the extra scenes are both in the episodes themselves and also available as a seperate extra with just the new scenes (in case you didn't notice what they were when watching the episode). And to be honest, for the most part, they fit in pretty nicely - I had to go back to the TV episode and check "was that really not there before?" for some of them. I can certainly see why the scenes were cut from the TV broadcast for time and focus, but at the same time, I don't think it hurts the pacing or focus too much with those scenes included either.

Thank you. Now that I know that, I can finally add them to AnimeSuki.

Surely noone thought I was just being obsessively nitpicky, right?

if you had asked the question in the torrent submission thread and not here, I would have seen it a whole lot sooner

The enjoyable new anime Yoake-mae yori Ruri-iro na Crescent Love is giving me some Lamune vibes. And come to think of it, so did another new anime, Happiness. Both are love stories that seem to involve a minimum of doubt or conflict, and much affection.

I think it means something like "Crescent Love More Azure than Pre-Dawn." The main female character is a princess from the Moon.

Hmm, i did get any kind of 'Lamune' when checking out both shows last week. To me - Lamune's just the type of show that shall always stand by its own in terms of story telling, the pace & so on.
