actually, Nyarlathotep can take form of whatever and whoever he like to, but he is an Outer God, to think that he turn himself into a moe girl is just.... unbelievable
and can this be considered as a trap? Nyarlathotep is most likely a male god after all @ Cosmic Eagle: is she one of The Great Old Ones?

I got to ask: Given that Nyarlathotep is mainly described as a "tall, swarthy man" who resembles an ancient Egyptian pharaoh, why is it that its stranger forms (mainly some kind of bastardized Howler in the Dark) are more popular?
In the form of the Bloated Woman, it initially appears as a dainty maiden behind a fan, though the fan casts an illusion masking the true form of a large bloated tentacled humanoid who eats brains. There is also the consideration that Nyarlathotep is an alien planet in the novel, so Nyaruko being a girl is probably not a trap. |

I still feel bad for the MC in this, being a lovecraft fan and then having to deal with all these moe girls telling you they're those crazy outer dimensional beings.

Nyarko 01 - Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn means I Love You
Acchi Kocchi is heartwarming, and Sengoku Collection is adventurous, but this show just rocketed to the top of my favorites list for this season. I'm vaguely familiar with Chtulu, well-read in love comedy, and extremely familiar with Kamen Rider, so couple that with some incredibly well-timed reflexive metacomedy, and this show has everything I'm looking for. It's by far the most anime-ish of the anime out this season. (Yes, I mean that as a compliment.) The opening theme is incredibly bouncy, and the ED isn't bad either. I had no idea Kana Asumi could be so manic. I watched the shorts when they were released, but switching to a full-length show has done wonders for it. Nyarko's Kamen Rider poses are the icing on the cake of a really well baked cake. (She even quoted Momotaros there, for a moment.) This show is wonderful. |

I have to say that I'm extremely pleased with the way this episode turned out. After waiting a long time to watch this fully animated, I had a blast watching it. Kana Asumi did a really nice job. She made nyarko even cuter! The opening and endings fit, and so it is time, to stock up on nyarko merch!
