Translated Title: I Got a New Skill Every Time I Was Exiled, and After 100 Different Worlds, I Was Unmatched

Synopsis:

It turns out that it's not without reason that he feels happy when he's exiled from his party, because every time he's been exiled he will receive a skill that makes him even more invincible...

Ed was given the crazy test of having to get expelled from 100 Hero parties in 100 different worlds before he could return to his original world. Finally a mysterious and divine entity said that he had achieved all the conditions to return to his original world.

However, as a final condition he is asked “Look at the fate of one of these exile worlds after you left.” and he is shocked by what he sees.

“Okay, I’ll do it! I’ll go down to these 100 worlds again and be banished with a good feeling!”

Ed takes on a new challenge to make full use of the super-powerful “Exiled Skills” that were granted each time he was exiled, and this time ensure they all have happy endings.

This was a very interesting fantasy-to-fantasy(ie. MC comes from fantasy world) isekai. As the premise states, he gets a powerful skill every time he is exiled, however, his physical build reverts back to its original state once he leaves said world. As the story starts with him on his 100th world, he is already OP, but the way that the story manages it is very impressive. I also thought it was an amusing twist on the "banished from hero's party" theme. Mostly its because the MC WANTS to get banished, for the skill + world reset, but its also nice to see the hero party not be a--hats or cartoonishly evil/pompous types, and just legitimately banishes him because of his lack of upkeep with the party.

It takes a number of chapters for the story to really get rolling, but once it does, it handles its characters and story with a panache that I haven't seen in a while in a fantasy story, all the while remaining engaging. The art and action scenes are top notch. The MC is certainly OP, but the others are never a deadweight where MC has to overcompensate, nor is he so OP he could do everything himself. The current available chapters wrap up what looks like the first major arc, so its a good time to start the story =03. The beginning where he's acting like/seen as a complete clown might be a bit offputting at first, but it corrects itself by the 2nd or 3rd chapter.

Like I said in the last comment, I was a bit put off about his personality in chapter 1.. until he got exiled. Then I thought it was funny how he was celebrating.

Seeing him fight using his OP skills was pretty cool. Literally invincible with his Impregnable Fortress skill. He was pretty smug dispatching the monster, but I liked the shift in tone once he saw the ruined town. Twas a shame how he found out the hero's party was dead. Its nice to see that even if he's OP, it humbles him enough to feel a bit of despair after finding out his friends have died. Fortunately, one was still alive. It was great writing to show how exhausted he was making the journey to find Tia with all his might as fast as possible; it really allows me to understand the severity and anxiousness of his feelings in that moment.

I was pretty impressed that they were able to make me like Tia so much and so early. No doubt the art being very clean is part of it, and her design is amazing down to the little details(like the earring dongles she wears), but her personality is just simply too precious in these first few chapters. Like when she saw Ed for the first time and she jumped on him, swinging around his neck ending in a seiza stance on his chest while he's standing but bending backwards(what a weird explanation =0b)... Her banter with Ed, sewing his cloak while asking him to feed her... I thought that was just so cute X03! Little stuff like that just made me warm up to her very quickly. Then you learn about the fate of their former party. You don't know who these guys are, but you clearly see the emotional impact it has on such a cheery girl, you feel so bad as she cries her heart out. Another small detail, but the way her conversation bubbles were made/linked by the string she was using to sew Ed's cloak is just an amazing storyboarding aesthetic(i'm sure someone with a bigger brain can correlate the string to tying of the events together or something, but that brain ain't mine

). All in all, Tia is giving me Deedlit vibes(though this might be future chapters bleeding through =0v) and I absolutely love her (^,^ )!

I thought the short Tia moment killing the dragon was cool; Ed fighting off the monstrous hoard was as well, but it could have been a bit more drawn out to see more of his Exiled skills. Guess we'll get to that later.

More of the little details I liked about Ed carrying Tia to the place where the Hero's party died was how he actually transported her(a makeshift seat he carried like a backpack) and giving her his cloak while he runs there. I'd thought there'd be another fight, but its basically Tia's final farewell.

Although he already hinted at going back in time in a prev chapter, what I find fascinating is that despite how powerful he's become, he still couldn't do anything to help Tia or their party in that moment. Showing his powerlessness right after his powerfulness was probably the strongest story aspect that sold me about this series. I thought this was an amazing prologue going into the next segment of the story.

Oh, small note that I enjoyed the side story with the 100th world. Also, the breakdown of a couple of Ed's Exiled skills show and other minor tidbits shows that even his OP powers probably have specific rules he has to follow, and even if they are overpowered, they are not omnipotent.

Dang wrote more than I thought. Gonna save my thoughts for up to chp 20 for a later time =0v....

Spoiler for chapter 7 ~ 8.1:

The Hero Alexis's personality felt like one you'd expect a hero to have; very calm, calculated, and logical. There have been so many "incompetent a--hole" or "not-hero" heroes in these banishment-styled stories, seeing one who was both strong AND competent kinda caught me off-guard a little, in a good way ofc. I thought the way Ed instigated him with the 'steak luggage' challenge was a pretty engaging way to get Alexis to acknowledge him. I liked the concept of the fight(for the reader); it showed that Ed is no slouch, as we all know, but also that Alexis's combat ability is on-par or greater than Ed's(without his Exiled Skills ofc). I like how they try to make a comical moment with Alexis by showing him remaking the table and fixing the roof, to lighten the edge off his character. It also shows that he takes responsibility for any and all of his actions, solidifying the ideal of him being a hero, but in a funny way.

Then we get to meet Gonzo and Tia. Gonzo quickly reminded me of FMA's Armstrong with all the muscles talk

. Surprisingly though I guess he's more known for his healing than his muscles, though obviously the latter is more important to him

. Simple man, and Alexis's right hand man, he was a bit serious when Tia left with Ed for a second, so its nice to see he isn't all just comic relief support, though clearly he's the counterbalance to Alexis's hardliner edge as well.

Finally Tia. She really does remind me of Deedlit(Record of Lodoss War) quite a bit =03. Her expressions are so lively and funny, I just adore her (^,^ )! It was a bit touching seeing Ed cry over seeing her again. I also really liked the explanation as to why she was clinging to him so hard; the concept and explanation of an elf's(or in this case her alternative future self's) memory engraving their feelings into their soul that transcends time and space was very creative to me =03. At the very least, it's better than "love at first sight" or concepts of a similar nature. But its the perfect reason for her to dote on Ed so hard and so early without feeling shoehorned in. Plenty of cute moments here, like when she looked smug when Ed reveals the "storage bag", then gets smug again and puts the bag on her head over her ahoge, or her trying to fit herself in the storage bag

, but also there was that moment where she mentions that she's strong enough to be part of the same party as Alexis and Gonzo. Just a real nice balance of being a fun character, but telling(the reader) that she can give just as much as the guys in a fight. We already knew that anyway, but still she looked cool when she said it.

I just want to say I appreciate Alexis continued observational ability; he mentions about the water relic being able to fit in the smaller-entranced bag and notices Ed's sword; he clearly gave Ed the gold coin versus the 10 silver coins from the 1st lap with the expectation that Ed'll buy himself a high quality sword.

Extra mention, I just really like how the art uses both Ed's and Tia's ahoge as well =03.

I've been reading this and have really enjoyed it. It's fun, but also quite poignant with a lot of nice feelings to it. It's very touching.

I look forward to seeing where it goes from here. I love isekai that goes outside the box.

Frontier Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2013	Spoiler: I just find it kind of funny that what got Ed kicked out of the party the first time was a deliberately staged moment of walking in on Tia changing . Like usually the party perceives the MC as useless or doesn't appreciate him (like the party at the beginning) but because his first party cared about him so much the only way they could think to kick him out was to frame him as a pervert . __________________
