For those who were wondering why Elsa and Goushi were naked, you could see the pods which were isolation tanks during the scene. As for why they were casual while being naked in front of each other, all I can say is that using the isolation tanks isn’t the only thing they do while being naked together.

It's real thing. You get suspended in liquid and cut from all sounds, visuals and even sense of touch. It's pretty obvious why it's nice thing to have if you play virtual reality game, I woud say.

She was already old enough to be able to work as a waitress 4 years earlier so now she has to be at least 20. She and Goushi are adults so there’s really nothing wrong with them being naked together. But the fact they are fine with being around each other naked which they have done so more than once as shown in the LN (and the LN version of the scene in the latest episode also includes a naked hugging), indicates they are dating or in some kind of relationship.

I got the impression from season 1 (and the fact that M kissed her and she returned the kiss) that they're kind of a thing but Elsa is still willing to get freaky with anyone. Which is why Karen will never go to another one of her concerts .

Ironically the scene at the start doesn't quite work for establishing how powerful the enemy team is. I think it more feeds into the main takeaway from this season thus far. LLENN is at her absolute worst in this team. Not only is her team kind of useless when they aren't trying to kill her, but she relies on them and doesn't think enough for herself. It feels incredibly rare for me to look at the main cast of a show and think they are at their worst when they are a team .
As for Elsa and Goushi...those two are just odd . I mean if Elsa using Goushi as a sandbag is working for him I suppose there's no reason to critique it . She seems to enjoy herself as well so all is good and it's keeping them in good shape.

I'm glad none of the FPS I play has GGO mechanics. That fire line would suck. It's a great joy to drop a grenade on people from a hidden position and watch them go flying because they didn't notice. A huge red line giving them warning would take the fun away.
Funny how it always has to be a big huge climactic battle. Just once I'd laugh my ass off if they'd eschew that for an unexpected quick win. Like Pito and Fuka sitting at the carousel talking about Pito's experiences, but in mid sentence the whole area goes up in a fireball from timed grenade and ta-da, end of the match Of course, it wouldn't make for an entertaining episode if they did that hehe. I also like that at least Fuka has a normal person's mindset about the game. Some people take it way too seriously, like Pito talking about fearing death. SAO is over, you aren't gonna really die lol. Though in all fairness, you can't compare today's gaming experiences with a full sensory engagement VR experience. I imagine things feel a bit more intense when you are wholly integrated, versus just having an HMD on your face like we do now. I'd love to have that kind of gaming, specifically for death. It'd be awesome to go up in a skyscraper in a full dive VR then just walk off the edge Ritchie's Plank Experience gives you something similar, but with just an HMD it isn't particularly scary hehe. Edit: Just watched ep 9, found it amusing that the mentality around the game was brought up. Fuka definitely has the right about; don't worry about it heh. Now I also see why people were like wtf is going on with Pito and M, that scene was... something else lol. Last edited by Strahan; 2024-12-03 at 18:56. |

Jumping straight into the thick of it with LLENN and Team LPFM at it again! And Team LPFM is still really bad when it comes to backing up LLENN. But wait, what's this? LLENN biting it in the opening minutes !?
You have to almost applaud how much these high school gymnastic girls are committed to LLENN as a figure of respect and their worthy rival and figuring out how to best let her realize how strong she is in her eyes...while they're hanging out in her apartment and she's just watching them talk about her like she isn't there . I know Miyu was a consumate flirt last season, but I didn't expect her to actually have a bit of a love life! Even if it ended with her getting dumped...I mean, dumping the guy! But who in their right mind would dump a girl as gorgeous and charming as Fuka? Was it because she was trying so hard to come off like an "ideal woman" that it was a turn-off? But you're still losing out on a girl who was willing to actually use her money for the sake of being a girlfriend . Elsa and M, by contrast, are a pretty unconventional couple where Elsa beats up Goushi and gets turned on by it (even when she hits him in the balls) but if it works for them, it's fine . Does Karen actually want to keep playing GGO? I mean, we know how committed and psychotic LLENN get when she really gets going, but is that really what she wants to be doing with her life? She doesn't love the idea of killing people...but maybe she's just uncomfortable with being the object of attention and rivals with people like Eva and Pito . Man, Miyu paints ALO as an utter unruly bloodbath of a game! Or maybe that's just because of how hardcore Miyu is as an ALO player ? I'm pretty skeptical of anything having to do with training NPC's knowing how dangerous AI can be... How is Karen going to play GGO in Hokkaido? Well, it just so happened Miyu already bought another one! For the boyfriend she broke up with! So they could game together! Poor Miyu . The Fuka and Pito team is back! These two gel surprisingly well together . Well, LLENN is still determined to fight SHINC and get her showdown with the Boss! You have to admire how committed she is to this one mission this season . Thank goodness for respawning .

LLENN is determined to settle the score with SHINC! But when it comes to taking down pesky Machine Gun Lovers, a brief team-up can't hurt, can it ?
I was wondering why they're killing themselves until I remembered the respawn function. Perfect for a surprise ambush . I didn't expect M to speak the Machine Gun Lovers' language! I guess he does have an M in his name (even if it's not that kind of M). Maybe they can be friends offline? They probably still want M to sell his machine gun to them . So they're straight-up sieging a castle! Which is really difficult, especially under heavy fire that catches us up to when LLENN died at the beginning . It's nice of them to show off the "bad guys" so we can see more of tight tanktop girl and Fuka can shop for a new boyfriend and also come up with deep backstories . Well, nice effort SHINC AND MMTM! But good thing you can respawn . Machine Gun Lovers are throwing in the towel!? In English!? I doubt the NPC's are going to let them join up...but wouldn't it be more fun to shoot machine guns at a castle .

Honestly I think LLENN and Boss are going to regret not trying to take another run at doing their fight now. Who knows what things are going to be like when this castle does get conquered.
To be honest I forgot about the respawn thing. I figured they'd go the route of using corpses as human shields since I thought those were pretty much invulnerable up until they disappeared. But sneaking up on them from behind worked too! Fuka's really having a tough time after the whole getting dumped thing...though not sure her hopes for an AI boyfriend are going to pan out this time. The AI players are good. But they also have an absurd defensive advantage. Their gear is good, they have a freaking castle as a physical defense, and the vantage points to pretty much take everyone out with ease. At best maybe if everyone attacked at exactly the same time from different angles they might stretch their opponents thin. I kind of get it. They want to shoot, shoot, and shoot some more. But against opponents with that kind of vantage point and gear they'd probably get wiped out too fast. But shooting from on top of a castle would be more fun since they probably could get a lot of work done and not die nearly so fast. Not sure their intention will work, but who knows. Maybe it will!

Logically, you'd expect NPCs to wipe them out when they walk up like that. But if they really want to showcase the strong AI, it'd be cool if they actually let them in. Be a good way to show that it's capable of dealing with very outlandish scenarios, lol
Also this is the same world that has SAO, which had Yui developed and running four years before now. She seemed like a very capable AI, so it's funny they act like these AI are novel. Though I guess in all fairness it's not like Yui's AI was a combat AI, so I guess that's the angle. |

I can't believe it! Machine Gun Lovers' plan to surrender to get into the castle is actually working! But not on Pito's watch! Nobody is getting into that castle with a nutty plan she didn't come up with! Too bad they lost drone-chan too .
It's kind of funny to see T-S bowing their heads and joining up with Pito when she killed them all so violently last Squad Jam. GGO always makes for strange bedfellows . And speaking of which, with nothing else working, maybe it's time to have LLENN run around and message everybody that they should team-up! Though poor LLENN getting held at gun point by MMTM ! The Machine Gun Lovers really DID just want to get into the castle just so they could shoot machine guns from said castle. Stay true to yourselves, guys . First phase of the plan! T-S serves as shield for the vanguard as they advance on the battlefield and distract the main defensive forces! But it's all a cover for LLENN, Tanya, and Kenta to slip into the castle with LLENN being one of the few people who can run in there! Also, RIP Cain, you're yet another dent in Fuka's love life courtesy of her own best friend . Man, Doc is no joke! Sorry Kenta! Also, these NPC's talk unprompted !? Mad respect to Tanya who went out taking down the machine gunner who, without a machine gun to shoot, just kills himself! Machine Gun Lovers get that ! Fuka doing what she does best! Blowing everything up ! Ah, now it's a free for all as everybody rushes into the castle! Though will they find the warhead or kill all the NPC's before the time runs out . I bet LLENN didn't expect to surprised by three of the NPC's. I bet she never expected to be ziptied and gagged in GGO. I best she also didn't expect these NPC's to be sentient enough to question why she's even there while also talking to each other (in translated English) . If LLENN can't get Jacob to shoot her, she'll just run and smash herself into a wall to kill herself. This is LLENN we're talking about, she is the most hardcore .

Don't know if it is a thing in English or JP Internet segment but in Russian-speaking Internet "убиться апстену" (literarly "kill yaself against the wall") is an old meme (and sort of a wish for opponents to do). So it was funny seeing LLEN do exactly this.

I suppose it makes sense. Not like advanced NPCs or AI is anything unusual for this franchise. It makes sense that they'd want these NPCs as advanced as possible. Having them take the situation seriously to the point of questioning a "child" like LLENN being there certainly fits.
In that sense capturing actually makes sense too. If your opponents have reusable lives then don't let them die! Of course if they wanted to be thorough they really would need to tie up LLENN's legs too and keep her in a small room to limit her options. But their perspective differed from hers so she could abuse the system. Although in that sense I'm confused by the machine gunner killed himself. He should be taking this seriously. There's no reason to die just because his weapon isn't useful. Can get another weapon after climbing back down since he killed the only enemy in the area. Just meet up with everyone. At worst he could still be a human shield. Still the overall strat was a good one. It was nice seeing this sort of thing actually work out .
