Salutes certainly can differ from country to country. The JSDF happens to use the same saluting conventions as the US military. Likely due to the US being the primary trainers when the JSDF was established.

Did Lelei get her PhD? Attacks on her should have stopped, but Zolzal is an avenging idiot and Tyuule basically got away with no suspicion falling on her.
Tyuule the tragic part is that she is just a victim in all this, who does not even play a minor role. the ideas come from ether Zolzal him self or Borous she is more like moral support. RIP her BTW. Also this is the reason why she cries: "Furuta asks Tyuule if he could be of any help. She looked troubled, and he wanted her to talk to him of what's on her mind. She mutters why anyone won't try to save her. ... When Itami nodded to her back in the palace, for a moment she thought perhaps he was going to save her, like he did Noriko. But in the end he just wanted to take the goblet out of her hands. If he had said he came to save her, and reached out his hands, she probably would have taken those hands without even thinking." novel end of volume 6. :f rustrated: you are right "Furuta asks Tyuule if he could be of any help. If he had said he came to save her, and reached out his hands, she probably would have taken those hands without even thinking." this is from a guy who had the original novel.
