-Kinda wish they'd have cut the scene with Ange in the Golden Land down a bit. It's too late for this kind of lingering development, as important as this scene is. If it was kept to 'hey bitch get your ass back to the game' then we would have more time for the scenes that really count in this episode. Especially since the lack of red makes the scene kinda...
-No Ange's red...I liked the animation in Ange's sacrifice, though the music wasn't very fitting...would have been a lot more emotional with better music, because Satou and Ono both did a very nice job.
-Cut out the whole first half of the tea party. Can't say I didn't see this coming, but it's still a shame to lose it...though I guess, considering they changed almost everyone's deaths in the Anime, it makes more sense this way.
-T-they...please tell me that's not GoldenSlaughterer I hear...they didn't...they DIDN'T...they even MADE a remix of DreamEndDischarger for the Anime OST...and they didn't...USE IT?!?!?!?!?! RAAAAAAAAGE!!!!!!!! (yes, I know, Mortal Stampede, blah blah blah, MORTAL STAMPEDE ISN'T GODTRACK LIKE DED FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU--)

-Endless Nine!! Well, at least they kept ONE godtracks in the scene...liking the remix, though I've liked most of the Anime remixes of songs that were already awesome.
-Extreme lack of red and blue...seriously, I expected it to be trimmed down, but from what I gathered a lot of the red statements were said, just...not in red. Nnngh...
-Okay, Beato being impaled on the spire of blue was AWESOME. I just wish the stakes looked more blue and glowy...they don't seem very representative of the truth, which they should.
-Not enough emotion in the final riddle...fanmade one is much, much better. Still, Thank You For Being Born gets me every time, and Sayaka Ohara > fanmade Beato's voice by far. If there's one reason I won't join the 'Umineko Anime Does Not Exist' bandwagon is because I love all the voices so much. Even with the joke of a script this series got, they managed to do a fantastic job throughout.
-...on second thought...having the emotional ending abbruptly cut by that irritating ending song (no, I don't like the song, and I haven't since episode 1) makes me reconsider the whole 'I won't pretend the Anime doesn't exist' thing I just said...honestly, the artists have gotten their songs plugged for 25 episodes so far...they cut the OP but can't even be bothered to cut the ED?! That's a minute and thirty seconds we could have gotten for the HUG and allowed the emotional impact to settle in!! I know it would have been asking too much to use Discode, but still...DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!
-Even ????? was pointless. Yay lesbian loli fanservice. Yeah, I'd totally rather have that instead of my rightful emotional EP4 ending. I wasn't expecting Lambda's red, but they didn't even give us Trollkastel. What the fuck. Why bother animating it at all. Well, at least now I know that by Anime logic, Bern's tail is real. That always bugged me.
That was...more of a disappointment than 24. And somehow I was still holding out hope that it would be just a little better than that, my lowest-rated episode of the series (if only because I didn't start reviewing until after episode 11). I just...I'm raging so much that I can't even effectively put it into words. But what's it matter...the collective VN population has pretty much spoken for my feelings anyways, since before this episode actually aired. I don't really have anything new to say about it. The preview for this episode was better than the episode itself. That's not right. That's just not right, DEEN. Damn you all. Learn your lesson already...please, let there be no season 2, unless by some astronomical chance another studio picks it up. I don't care if they reanimate all of the first series, just let someone else animate (or at least replace Chiaki Kon in) Chiru, or let it not be animated at all...

Far better than I expected. Especially the voice acting was superb!
The only scene I felt was a bit off was when Beato was impaled before the final riddle. When she said "it hurts" and asked Battler to end it she didn't sound humble at all. I know it's difficult to speak when your mouth is full of blood but she sounded a bit angry/frustrated and not sad in my opinion.
I'm sorry to you people who rated this highly, but what Deen did in this episode is outrageously sloppy. I lack the words to properly describe it.

The toughest riddle that we've seen, and the final one "solved" in the question arcs...is Nanjo's death in Episode 3. Here is Battler's solution for it in episode 26 (more or less):

However, in that same episode 18, Deen had Beato saying "I've already confirmed their deaths with the red" even though she never actually did. So which is the mistake?

This proves that Ryuukishi wasn't overseeing this episode, or if he was, it proves that they didn't listen to him.

Well it took me until the last episode to learn to watch the episodes before reading the comments in the forum here.
That said, I really like this episode. I really do think they pulled it off well with the amount of time they had left.
I really do hope *someone* animates chiru. Whether it be deen or someone else. (Don't bother arguing me with this)
After this episode finished I was like, "That was it?" lol...

I imagined the Ange scene to be a lot bloodier. Wasn't she picked to pieces? They made it seem like she melted or something o_o And she wasn't holding his head this time, so it's not like he couldn't see what was happening to her, yet he still did nothing...
I loved it when Beato was like, "Whaat? 'Small Bombs'? LMAO" that part made me giggle. But I really imagined the "Who am I?" scene to be slow and sad, rather than Beato tastelessly throwing up blood everywhere. The scene also ended rather abruptly, it didn't seem like an ending at all.
Lambda and Bern were really cute~ But no Trollkastel D':

All I have to say is that this episode was awesome!
Watching the anime this past half-year was an enjoyable experience, I look forward to reading Chiru, and hope an anime of that will come someday as well!

You are just better off reading the VN, even IF DEEN was able to make Chiru, it would just be a complete failure since they've already screwed it up big time with just Episode 4 alone. I don't think Beatrice and Battlers relationship would even make sense in a Chiru anime since other then the Ep 3 troll, they haven't had any moments together.

Also, what I didn't get, was why did Beato fall back and start crying when Maria was all happy when she got Sakutaro back and was all "Sugoi, sugoi!"

Chrono, Beato did say more lines in red. But DEEN was so budget-low they only used the red truth sound for it. The same applies for some of Battler's lines.

But you really can't say you like something 'better' if you haven't fully experienced the source material. It makes no sense.

I thought this episode was done well. Though I think they could've removed the ending song for 2 reasons.,because I've never really liked the song,but that doesn't matter much. And 2, To,ya know, make some scenes longer.And they should've added the Beato and Battler hug in there. And add Trollkastel.
Although the anime doesn't reach up to VN's level (quite impossible anyway, not fully blaming DEEN for that) I'm glad this got animated. Even with the flaws it had I enjoyed watching it and seeing the characters voiced. Yeah, maybe another studio or director would've done a better job with it but at least it got animated, with the anime around more people will start reading the VN too and that makes the community bigger.
